Sheriff: Help sought to find suspect who was in possession of stolen vehicle

Authorities are asking for the public's help to find a suspect who fled on foot in Charenton after deputies found him in possession of a stolen vehicle, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum said in a news release.

Terrell Charles, 20, of Martin Luther King Jr. Road in Charenton, is wanted on charges of possession of stolen things, resisting an officer and seat belt violation.

At 2:09 p.m. Tuesday, deputies patrolling the Charenton area responded to a complaint of a stolen vehicle. Through the investigation, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Dinkins Road in Charenton and made contact with the driver, Charles, who fled on foot, the sheriff said.
