Police: Two arrested on drug charges after search

Two people were booked Saturday on multiple drug charges after Morgan City police executed a search warrant at a motel and located methamphetamine and marijuana among other drugs, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.

—Michelle R. Chapman, 31, of Mulberry Street in Schriever, was arrested at 1:44 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of alprazolam, possession of oxycodone, possession of carisoprodol, possession of MDMA, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

—Juan Torres Jr., 28, of Stacy Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:44 p.m. Saturday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Narcotics division investigators executed a search warrant at a motel in the area of La. 182. Chapman and Torres were identified as suspects in the investigation, Blair said.

Investigators located suspected methamphetamine, alprazolam, oxycodone, carisoprodol, MDMA, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Blair said.

Evidence was uncovered linking Chapman to the suspected alprazolam, oxycodone, carisoprodol, MDMA , marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators also found evidence that some of the methamphetamine was destined to be sold on the streets and linked to Chapman, Blair said. Investigators also found Torres to be in possession of suspected meth amphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Chapman and Torres were jailed.

Blair reported responding to 106 calls and reported the following arrests:

—Jessica L. Fears, 33, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Roderick Street in regard to an unrelated complaint. Officers arrived and Fears was at the location. Fears was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Fears was jailed.

—Travis Hayes, 38, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace.

Patrol officers responded to a motel in the area of La. 182 in regard to a narcotics complaint. Officers arrived, and Hayes was identified. While speaking with officers, Hayes began to cause a disturbance in the parking lot by yelling and using profane language, Blair said. Hayes was jailed.

—Kierra Johnson, 29, of Chester Bowles Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. Friday on charges of driving under suspension and failure to dim bright lights.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Avenue with the bright lights activated while passing other vehicles. A stop was initiated, and Johnson, the driver, had a suspended driver’s license, Blair said. Johnson was jailed.

—Tyla M. Domingue, 28, of Belle River Road in Pierre Part, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on charges of DWI first offense, careless operation of a motor vehicle and possession of Adderall.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Railroad Avenue in regard to a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch. Officers arrived, and Domingue was identified as the operator of the vehicle.

Domingue was found to be in an intoxicated state and performed poorly on a field sobriety test, Blair said. At the police department, Domingue registered 0.202 grams-percent blood alcohol content on a chemical test.

During the booking process, Domingue was found to be in possession of suspected Adderall, for which she did not have a prescription. Domingue was jailed.

—Javier Santos, 44, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated and on a warrant charging him with two counts of failure to appear to pay a fine.

—Scott Reid, 55, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Greenwood Street in regard to suspicious subjects under the bridge. Officers arrived and located Santos and Reid under the bridge. Santos and Reid were both found to be in an intoxicated state, Blair said.

Santos also had an active city court warrant, Blair said. Santos and Reid were jailed.

—Robert M. Sizemore III, 28, of Ann Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Saturday on a warrant charging him with possession of suboxone.

Sizemore was located and arrested in the area of Ann Street on a warrant. The warrant stems from a July 16 investigation during which Sizemore was found to be in possession of suspected suboxone, Blair said.

Sizemore stated that he had a prescription for the medication, but he did not provide proof of the prescription. Sizemore was jailed.

—Raul O. Nevarez, 54, of Mallard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Sunday on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Victor II Boulevard in regard to a suspicious person. Officers arrived and Nevarez was identified. Nevarez was found to be in an intoxicated state. Nevarez was jailed.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 108 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:

—Yuni Rayes, 26, of Eighth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Friday on a charge of unlawful possession of fraudulent documents.

A deputy investigating a separate complaint received consent to search Rayes’ home and located a fraudulent social security card, driver’s license and birth certificate, Hebert said. Rayes was jailed with no bail set.

—Deric Wilcox, 35, of Pitkin La. 10 East in Leesville, was arrested at 6 p.m. Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a business off U.S. 90 in Patterson. Through investigation, the deputy found evidence that Wilcox pulled on a female victim’s arm during an argument at the location.

The deputy transported Wilcox to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Wilcox was released on $2,500 bail.

—Ethan Mensman, 20, of Riverview Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 4:24 a.m. Sunday on charges of improper lane usage and possession of marijuana.

A deputy observed a vehicle traveling across the fog line of La. 182 in Berwick and onto the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Mensman . The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, Hebert said. Mensman was released on a summons to appear in court Oct. 11.

—Cameron Jackson, 18, of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:40 p.m. Sunday on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace-offensive language, disturbing the peace-fighting and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy located Jackson at his home on the warrants and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:

—Tmyra E. Francis, 27, of Ledoux Circle in Patterson, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Saturday on a charge of theft by shoplifting. Francis was jailed on $402 cash bail.

—Anthony John Pennison Jr., 46, of Railroad Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 1:31 a.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated and on a warrant hold for probation violation. No bail is set yet.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
