Police Reports 9-7-17
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Betty Metrejean, 52, of 316 South Bay Road, Pierre Part, was arrested Thursday at 10:35 p.m. on charges of procedure on approach of an authorized emergency vehicle; passing a parked emergency vehicle violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on US 90 in Berwick observed a vehicle fail to move over despite having ample time and space to change lanes. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and met with the driver who was identified as Metrejean. While speaking with her, the deputy found that she was driving with a suspended license. Metrejean was released on a summons.
Crystal Bourgeois, 35, of 96 Lee St., Franklin, was additionally charged Wednesday at 4:24 p.m. on a warrant for possession of a Legend Drug cyclobenzaprine without a prescription. The warrant stems from a traffic stop investigation conducted by the Narcotics Section K-9 Unit in Morgan City in June. The detectives located a cyclobenzaprine pill in Bourgeois’ purse. Bourgeois was being housed at the Morgan City Police Department jail when the additional charge was filed.
Marlene Watkins, 55, of 1305 Cambridge Drive, LaPlace, was arrested Tuesday at 12:29 a.m. on charges of aggravated flight from an officer and reckless operation of a vehicle. A dispatcher received several calls of a vehicle traveling east in the west bound lane of US 90, through the Bayou Vista area. A deputy responded and located the vehicle traveling the wrong way in the west bound lane towards Morgan City. The deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed into Amelia. The deputy followed the vehicle into Assumption Parish and Terrebonne Parish. During the pursuit, Louisiana State Police were contacted. A trooper stopped the vehicle while in Terrebonne Parish. The driver, Watkins, was detained. The deputy spoke with Watkins and observed that she appeared to be confused. Watkins was transported to the Terrebonne Parish jail for booking and then transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for housing. No bail is set. Continuing the investigation, the deputy learned that a Watkins family member had filed a welfare concern report for the subject, in St. John the Baptist Parish. All information gathered during this investigation has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office.
Kenneth Alfred, 43, of 515 Marie St., Apt. #2, Patterson, was arrested Tuesday at 5:03 p.m. on the charge of obscenity. Deputies received a complaint of obscenity in the parking lot of the Bayou Vista Library. Narcotics Detectives responded and learned that a male subject exposed his genitals inside a parked vehicle. Detectives located the suspect driving on US 90 in Berwick and stopped him. He was identified as Alfred. During the investigation, detectives learned that Alfred exposed his genitals inside a parked vehicle and was masturbating while watching a pornographic video on a cell phone. Alfred was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Crystal Bourgeois, 35, 96 Lee St., Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 2:49 a.m. on charges of possession of Schedule IV Xanax, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, possession of Schedule I marijuana, obstruction of justice and entering contraband into a penal institution.
Terrell Charles, 19, of 1256 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, was arrested Wednesday at 2:49 a.m. for obstruction of justice.
Narcotics detectives received a complaint of illegal drug activity taking place in a room at the Plantation Inn in Bayou Vista. When detectives went to the room, they saw Charles look out the window, then run into the bathroom. Detectives also observed a Xanax pill, a used syringe, and other items related to illegal drug use inside the room. After obtaining a search warrant, detectives located additional drug paraphernalia including a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and spoons containing methamphetamine residue. Detectives spoke with Charles and Bourgeois, the room’s occupants, and found evidence that Charles flushed a synthetic marijuana cigar down the toilet. Charles and Bourgeois were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Narcotics detectives then received information that Bourgeois was in possession of additional illegal drugs. Methamphetamine and marijuana were recovered from Bourgeois’ person. No bail is set for Bourgeois or Charles.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Tris Madison, 25, of La. 318, Jeanerette, was arrested Tuesday at 11:31 a.m. on a warrant for the charge of domestic abuse battery - second offense. Madison was booked, processed, and released on a $1,800 bond.
Roger Campbell, 27, of Easy Street, Franklin, was arrested on Wednesday at 9:25 a.m., on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Campbell was booked, processed, and held on a $1,000 bond.
Alonzo Alexander, 36, of Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 9:29 a.m. on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Alexander was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
April Phillip, 38, of Lee Charles Street, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 2:05 p.m. on warrants for Third Ward City Court for failure to appear on charges of illuminating devices required, no child restraint, switched license plate, misuse of temporary license plate, no insurance and simple battery. Phillip was booked, processed, and released on a $500 bond.
Russell Thomas, 36, of Taft Street, Patterson, was arrested Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. on a warrant for Patterson City Court for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Thomas was booked, processed, and transported to Patterson Police Department.
Michelle Brown, 45, of Eighth Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 2:08 a.m. on charges of home invasion and aggravated assault - three counts. Officers responded to the area of Eighth Street in reference to a subject that broke into a house. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victims who advised that Brown allegedly forced her way into the residence through a broken door. Officers also learned that once inside the residence, Brown allegedly pointed knives at the victims. Brown was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests:
Dale Simoneaux Jr., 26, of Tunica Street, Charenton, was arrested last Wednesday on a Chitimacha Tribal Court warrant for the charge of violation of probation.
He was arrested by the Miami Dade Police Department on the Chitimacha Tribal Court warrant during a traffic stop. Chitimacha police officers transported Simoneaux from the Miami Dade County Jail in Miami, Florida back to Louisiana. He was then transported to the parish jail.
