Police Reports 7-10-17

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Jason Derouen, 36, of New Iberia, was arrested Thursday at 12:19 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of possession of Vyvanse, reckless operation and suspended license. He was released on $7,500 bond.
Sharon Pierce, 62, of 2994 Fourth St., Apt. A, Berwick, was arrested Thursday at 3:14 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of direct contempt, seat belt violation and failure to honor written promise to appear. She was released on $100 bond.
Angel Phillips, 42, of 211 Happy Acres, Baldwin, was arrested Thursday at 12:39 p.m. on charges of hit and run driving, no proof of insurance and reckless operation. She was released on a summons.
Kayla Hamilton, 26, of Theodore, Alabama, was arrested Thursday at 6:28 p.m. on charges of speeding and no proof of registration and released on a summons.
Peyton Ware, 21, of 1105 Garlotte St., Franklin, was arrested Friday at 10:19 p.m. on charges of speeding, open alcohol container, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and was released on a summons.
Earl Otis, 53, of 313 Talbot St., Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 11:53 p.m. on a charge of possession of stolen property and held with no bond set.
Matthew Johnson, 35, of Prairieville, was arrested Friday at 1:52 a.m. on a charge of remaining where forbidden.
Lindsey Cook, 33, of Sandra Court, Morgan City, was arrested Friday at 1:52 a.m. on charges of remaining where forbidden, resisting an officer with force and battery on an officer.
Cook was released on a $5,500 bond. Johnson was released on a $500 bond.
Joshua Bertrand, 39, of 1028 Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested Friday at 12:50 p.m. on a charge of theft and released on a summons.
Zacolby Granger, 25, of Siracusaville, was arrested Friday at 4 p.m. on charges of expired license plate and suspended driver’s license and was released on a summons.
Stacey Skinner, 51, of Siracusaville, was arrested Friday at 4:12 p.m. on a charge of suspended driver’s license and was released on a summons.
Jackie Robinson, 26, of Beaumont, Texas, was arrested Friday at 5:32 p.m. on a Waller County district court warrant charging him with failure to appear on a charge of burglary of an inhabited dwelling. No bond was set.
A juvenile male, 16, of Bayou Vista, was arrested Friday at 6:39 p.m. on a charge of theft and released to guardians pending juvenile court.
Anthony Pinell, 29, of Pinell Marine Lane, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 8:12 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of domestic abuse battery, criminal mischief and criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $750.
Johnathan Rollins, 30, of Jeanerette, was arrested Saturday at 2 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of criminal neglect of family and held on $4,721 bond.
Edward Gil, 39, of 1020 Kimberly Drive, Morgan City, was arrested Saturday at 8:48 p.m. on charges of speeding, aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle with accident, attempted disarming of a police officer, resisting an officer and no seat belt.
A deputy reportedly observed a vehicle traveling 64 mph in a posted 45 mph zone on US 90 in Berwick and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle sped up and continued east over the US Highway 90 bridge in Morgan City. The deputy followed the vehicle. The deputy observed Gil standing up through the sun roof of the vehicle while driving the car. Gil then drove off the roadway and into the swampy area along US 90 in Amelia. The deputy quickly exited the police unit and entered the swamp to assist the driver. The deputy found the driver, later identified as Gil, exiting the car. Gil repeatedly refused the deputies commands to keep his hands visible. As the deputy worked to detain him, Gil grabbed the deputy’s firearm. Gil was detained and transported to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment. Following his release from the medical center, Gil was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Michael Verdin, 38, of Gray, and Travis Theriot, of 1700 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, were charged Sunday at 8:47 p.m. with impeding the flow of traffic and reckless operation of a vehicle. A deputy responded to a report of reckless driving on Saturn Road in Bayou Vista. The deputy located the two suspect drivers and identified them as Verdin and Theriot. The deputy found evidence that the suspects had attached the rear of their vehicles together with a strap and were driving in opposite directions in a tug of war in the street. Following the investigation, the deputy released Verdin and Theriot on summons.
Lamonica Charles, 32, of 105 Coulee St., Baldwin, was arrested today at 12:40 p.m. on a charge of violation of a protective order and held with no bond set.

Jeremy Green, 33, of 217 Deare St., New Iberia, was arrested Friday on charges of:
—Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule IV (Valium) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule II (Adderall) with intent to distribute
—Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
—Conspiracy to enter contraband into a penal institution
Leandrea Fusilier, 32, 217 Deare St., New Iberia, was charged with:
—Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule IV (Valium) with intent to distribute
—Possession of Schedule II (Adderall) with intent to distribute
—Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
—Conspiracy to enter contraband into a penal institution
A detective of the St. Mary Parish Narcotics Section reportedly received a phone call from Fusilier stating that she wanted to arrange a “drop off” of contraband items at the jail. The detective quickly determined that Fusilier had dialed the wrong number and initiated an investigation. The narcotics detective found evidence that Fusilier and Green were conspiring with Lewis, an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, to have contraband delivered to the jail. Fusilier accidentally dialed the wrong number and contacted a narcotics detective to arrange the delivery of contraband. Fusilier arranged the meeting at a gas station in the Jeanerette area. Narcotics detectives then made contact with Fusilier and Green at the location. Fusilier and Green were detained. There was also a child in the vehicle at the time of the investigation. Detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located a brown paper bag containing synthetic cannabinoids, marijuana, Valium pills, Adderall pills, tobacco, and a cell phone. Fusilier and Green were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Lewis remains incarcerated. No bail is set.
Mykella Johnson, 30, of 1356 Joseph St., Morgan City, was arrested Saturday at 1:42 a.m. on a charge of possession of marijuana and released on a summons.
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the arrest of Ionthia Sparrow, 34, of New Iberia, today on five Iberia Parish warrants charging her with failure to appear for trial on charges of driving under suspension, expired license plate, three counts child restraint violation, no driver’s license, expired inspection, altered tag, Failure to return a leased movable and failure to pay fine; failure to appear for arraignment on charges of issuing worthless checks; No bond was noted.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Colby Spain, 34, of Robertson Street, Franklin, Wednesday at 8:17 a.m. on district court failure to appear warrant on charges of criminal neglect of family. No bond was set.
Colby Spain, 34, of Robertson St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 5, 2017, at 8:17 AM, on warrants for the 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on traffic charges and for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Spain was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Jovanta Henry, 24, of Bodin Drive, Franklin , was arrested Friday at 3:44 p.m. on warrants charging her with criminal damage to property and was held on $1,000 bond.
Irwin Francis, 48, of Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 1:29 a.m. on charges of possession of cocaine and released on $1,500 bond.
