Police Reports 3-20-18

Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrest:
Erica Compton, 22, of Chitimacha Loop Road, Charenton, was arrested Sunday on the charge of two counts of domestic violence. She was transported to the parish jail.
Officers responded to a tribal residence in reference to a domestic complaint. During the investigation, it was learned that Compton allegedly had committed domestic violence, and she was arrested.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrests:
Tyrone Jackson, 34, of 109½ Romero Lane, Jeanerette, was arrested Monday at 9:45 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of speeding, no driver’s license and failure to honor written promise to appear.
A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section located Jackson at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jackson was released on a $500 bond.
Derrick Brown Sr., 43, of 239 Couley St., Baldwin, was arrested Monday at 12:28 p.m. on charges of general speed law violation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, resisting a police officer with force or violence and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A deputy monitoring traffic, observed a vehicle speeding 39 mph in a posted 25 mph zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Brown. While speaking with Brown, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy worked to detain Brown pending an investigation into the suspected illegal drug activity. Brown forcefully pulled away from the deputy and fled on foot. Brown was apprehended. Following the investigation, he was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the traffic offenses, resisting an officer, and the warrant. No bail is set.
Earl Fabre, 36, of 511 Hilda St., Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. on charges of monetary instrument abuse, illegal possession of stolen things, resisting an officer by flight, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no motor vehicle insurance.
Deputies responding to a report of a possible robbery in the Franklin area located the suspect vehicle on US 90. The suspect vehicle then turned onto La. 82 in Calumet. With the assistance of Patterson Police, a deputy initiated a traffic stop. However, the driver continued to travel on La. 182 without pulling over. With the assistance of Berwick Police, the driver of the vehicle was stopped near the intersection of La. 182 and US 90 in Berwick. The driver was detained and identified as Fabre. Fabre was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no insurance. Through investigation, deputies located items inside Fabre’s vehicle that were reported as stolen. Deputies also located counterfeit cash on Fabre’s person. Fabre was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Raymond Chapman, 38, of 316 Elm St., Centerville, was arrested Tuesday at 12:53 a.m. on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A deputy speaking with Chapman at a business off US 90 in the Patterson area found that he was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Chapman was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,000.
Juan Luques, 27, of 809 Percy St., Amelia, was arrested Monday at 7:41 a.m. on a warrant for the charge of battery of a dating partner.
In December, deputies investigating a suspected battery at an Amelia residence found evidence that Luques grabbed a female victim by the throat and also struck her in the face. Deputies obtained a warrant for Luques’ arrest. A deputy located Luques at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Santos Morales, 32, of 1812 La. 182, Bayou Vista, was arrested Monday at 12 p.m. on a Louisiana State Police warrant for charges of two counts identity theft, two counts forgery, two counts unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes and filing false public records.
A Narcotics Section detective assisting Louisiana State Police took Morales into custody at his residence, on the warrant. Morales was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Therold James, 33, of Bayou Vista, was additionally charged Monday at 7:51 p.m. on charges of entering contraband into a penal institution, obstruction of justice, criminal damage to property and simple assault.
Narcotics Section detectives conducting an investigation at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center observed inmate James flushing suspected contraband down the toilet. Detectives searching his cell located a mobile phone. Detectives also found that James damaged a light fixture. During the investigation, James repeatedly spit at detectives. James remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center with no bail set.
Desmond Richard, 36, of 341 Mike Drive, Patterson, was arrested Friday at 4:11 a.m. on two warrants for the charge of failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation, a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family, a warrant for failure to appear on charges of no motor vehicle insurance, improper lane usage, no driver’s license on person, failure to change address and operating a vehicle with improper equipment and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal damage to property.
Richard was transported from the Patterson Police Department jail on the warrants to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
Nikiteal Borel, 41, of 835 Cypremort Road, Jeanerette, was arrested Friday at 3:21 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks.
A correctional deputy transported Borel from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the warrant. Borel was released on a summons.
