Police Reports 11-30-17

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Dean Beranek, 31, of 117 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, was arrested Wednesday at 2:43 p.m. on two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section received information that Beranek was at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin and took him into custody on the warrants. The deputy transported Beranek to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $11,338.
Amanda Aucoin, 32, of 128 Bayou Lane, Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. on charges of possession of Legend Drug levothyroxine sodium without a prescription, possession of Legend Drug Levotab without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for charges of possession of a Schedule II drug methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In September, narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on La. 182 in Morgan City and found that Aucoin, a passenger in the vehicle, had a large piece of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and other illegal drug related paraphernalia in her purse. Detectives obtained a warrant for Aucoin’s arrest and located her at a business on Degravelle Road in Amelia. During her arrest, narcotics detectives received consent to search Aucoin’s vehicle and located pills, a digital scale, and a glass pipe used to consume methamphetamine.
Aucoin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
John Yates Jr., 38, of 611 Arenz St., Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 4:57 p.m. on charges of possession of a Schedule II drug methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I drug marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law drug free zone and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while intoxicated.
Narcotics detectives located Yates at his residence on the warrant. During the arrest, detectives found methamphetamine, a bag of marijuana, and a glass pipe used to consume methamphetamine on Yates’ person. The illegal drugs were located within 2,000 feet of a school. Yates was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Christopher Lumpkin, 46, of 1131 Cypremort Road, Four Corners, was arrested Wednesday at 7:41 p.m. on charges of obscuring view prohibited window tint, turning movements and required signals violation, possession of a Schedule II drug Norco and possession of a Schedule IV drug Xanax.
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Baldwin area observed a vehicle with dark tinted windows obscuring the view of the driver on La. Highway 182. Detectives also observed that the driver failed to signal a turn onto La. Highway 83. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Lumpkin. While speaking with him, detectives observed a pill bottle inside the vehicle without a prescription on the container. K-9 Buddy was deployed in the investigation and indicated a positive odor response on the vehicle. During a search of the truck, narcotics detectives located a Xanax pill and Norco pill. Lumpkin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Lumpkin was later released on a $2,500 bond.
Jewels Madison Sr., 35, of 411 Ninth St., Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 9:18 p.m. on four warrants for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
Narcotics detectives patrolling Franklin observed a vehicle cross over the center line on Iberia Street and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives spoke with the driver, Madison, and located the active warrants for his arrest. Madison was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,969.
Therold James, 33, of Bayou Vista, was additionally charged with criminal damage to property Wednesday at 6:33 p.m.
A corrections deputy observed James, an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, damage a facility phone. James remains incarcerated with no bail set.
Jerome Broussard, 45, of 1032 11th St., Gretna, was arrested Wednesday at 10:41 p.m. on charges of general speed law violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A narcotics detective conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on US 90 in Patterson. A patrol deputy assisting with the investigation found that the driver, Broussard, had a suspended license. Broussard was released on a summons.
