Police Reports 11-29-17

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Lee Butler, 50, of St. Joseph Lane, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 1:03 p.m. on the charge of theft by shoplifting under $300 fourth offense. Butler was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Antoinette Starks, 43, of Norman Bauer, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 12:10 a.m. on charges of domestic abuse battery and aggravated battery. Starks was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Travis Boudreaux, 48, of Cedar Street, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 11:10 p.m. on charges of appearing in an intoxicated condition and domestic abuse battery second offense. Boudreaux was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Paul Jenkins, 49, of 309 Orphan Home Road, Baldwin, was arrested Monday at 4:22 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute, failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A narcotics detective patrolling the Franklin area observed a vehicle fail to signal prior to stopping at the intersection of La. 182 and Sterling Road. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Jenkins. K-9 Buddy was deployed on the exterior of the vehicle and showed an odor response. During a search of the vehicle, detectives located crack cocaine rocks and items of drug paraphernalia inside. Jenkins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $6,000.
Devontre Richard, 20, of 404 Williams Street lot 1, Patterson, was arrested Monday at 11:22 a.m. on charges of possession of a Schedule I narcotic and obstruction of justice.
A detective with the K-9 Section observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 in Franklin with a damaged windshield. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the passenger who was identified as Richard. The detective smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle, and found evidence that Richard attempted to discard a marijuana cigarette. Richard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Richard was released on a $2,250 bond.
Terrence Johnson, 38, of 4022 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, was arrested Monday at 7:02 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute and improper lane usage.
A detective with the K-9 Section, while on patrol, observed a vehicle cross the center line of travel several times while traveling on Chitimacha Trail. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver who was identified as Johnson. The detective smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from both Johnson and the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle the detective located a baggie containing crack cocaine rocks. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Lindsey Bray, 32, of 406 Main Street #1, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 7:22 p.m. on charges of reckless operation of a vehicle, resisting a police officer with force or violence, disturbing the peace, no registration in motor vehicle, expired inspection sticker and no proof of insurance.
A narcotics detective assisting with an unrelated traffic stop near School House Lane in Charenton observed a vehicle traveling at a high and unsafe rate of speed. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Bray. The detective learned that Bray was operating the vehicle without its registration, without insurance, and with an expired inspection sticker. While speaking with the detective, Bray became irate, pushing away from, and refusing to cooperate with the detective conducting the stop. Bray was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Craig Free, 31, of 1701 River Road, Berwick, was arrested on Nov. 22 at 10:32 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear for charges of speeding, expired drivers license, failure to carry registration and failure to honor a written promise to appear. Free is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. A corrections deputy booked him the additional charge. Bail is set at $7,885.
Morris Crater Jr., 53, of 242 Connifer St., Ft. Collins, Colo. was arrested on Nov. 22 at 1:29 p.m. on a probation violation warrant for the original charge of 19 counts of issuing worthless checks. Crater is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. A corrections deputy booked him on the additional charge. No bail is set.
Derek Parr Jr., 25, of 38506 Car Road, Gonzales, was arrested on Nov. 22 at 3:51 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding and reckless operation of a vehicle. A corrections deputy transported Parr from the St. James Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,500.
April Pontiff, 37, of 11511 La. 182, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 1:40 p.m. on the charge of theft.
Juneisha Enakele-Gray, 26, of 1123 La. 318 Jeanerette, was arrested Tuesday at 1:40 p.m. on the charge of theft.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a local business for a shoplifting complaint. The deputy found evidence that both Pontiff and Enakele-Gray removed several items from the business without purchasing them. The deputy also learned that Pontiff and Enakele-Gray left the store prior to his arrival. A deputy made contact with both Pontiff and Enakele-Gray at a residence in Centerville, and they were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Pontiff and Enakele-Gray were both released on a $1,000 bond.
Dale Thibodeaux, 58, of 118 Sycamore Street, Labadieville, was arrested Tuesday at 4:13 p.m. on charges of possession of stolen things, open container, no insurance and driving under suspension.
Deputies patrolling the Baldwin area responded to a call of a reckless driver traveling east on US 90. Deputies conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle matching the given description and made contact with the driver, Thibodeaux. Deputies learned that Thibodeaux was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and no insurance. Deputies also found evidence that the license plate displayed on the vehicle was stolen. Deputies received verbal consent to conduct a search of the vehicle and located an opened alcoholic beverage container in the console. Thibodeaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,250.
Anthony Pennison, 46, of 1721 River Road, Berwick, was arrested Wednesday at 2:32 a.m. for driving under suspension and resisting with false information. A deputy patrolling the area of Berwick observed a vehicle change lanes at a fast pace on US 90 near Thorguson Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was later identified as Pennison. The deputy learned that Pennison was driving with a suspended license, and also that he provided a false name. Pennison was released on a summons.
Erin Peters, 34, of 707 Iberia St., Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:11 p.m. on the charge of possession of Schedule I narcotic.
Marcus Dupas, 33, of 1110 Plantation Drive #35, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:11 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule I narcotic and failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection.
Sedrick Rudolph, 33, of 434 Gumpoint Lane, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:11 p.m. on the charge of possession of Schedule I.
Iesha Davis, 26, of 1048 Cayce Street, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:11 p.m. on the charge of possession of Schedule I narcotic.
A narcotics detective patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle fail to use a turning signal prior to approaching the intersection at Iberia and Darce Street. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Dupas, and passengers: Peters, Rudolph and Davis. Through the course of the investigation, the detectives were given consent to search the vehicle. Detectives located marijuana cigarettes inside the vehicle and in a bag that belonged to Davis. Peters, Dupas, Rudolph, and Davis were all released on a summons.
