Police Reports 11-14-17

Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests:
Needron Bernard, 32, of Tunica Street, Charenton, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, burglary, disorderly conduct and cruelty to juveniles. He was transported to the parish jail.
On April 14, officers responded to a complaint in reference to a juvenile being threatened. During the investigation, it was learned that Bernard was the suspect identified, and a warrant was issued. On April 16, Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Bernard on other charges, and the Chitimacha Police Department warrant. Wednesday, Bernard was released to the Chitimacha Police Department.
Charlie Scott, 55, of Talbot Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Scott was released on a summons.
Officers responded to a tribal business in reference to a suspicious person allegedly selling drugs. During the investigation, it was learned that Scott was involved, and the Chitimacha K-9 was deployed which resulted in the arrest of Scott.
A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested Friday on the charge of disorderly conduct and was transported to a juvenile facility.
Officers responded to a residence in reference to a disturbance. During the investigation, it was learned that the 15-year-old juvenile was involved, and the juvenile was arrested.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Juvenile female, 14, was arrested Thursday, at 8:33 a.m. on two counts of simple battery.
A school resource officer responded to the St. Mary Parish Alternative School, for a disturbance. The school resource officer made contact with school officials and the juvenile, and learned that during the altercation, the juvenile struck two school officials. The juvenile was released into the custody of her parents, pending juvenile court proceedings.
Marion Carroll, 34, of 113 Hebert Road, Franklin, was arrested Thursday on charges of driving under suspension and speeding.
A deputy patrolling the Jeanerette area observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on US 90 near Pepper Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Carroll. During the course of the stop, the deputy also learned that Carroll was operating his vehicle with a suspended license. Carroll was released on a summons.
Paul Ibert, 56, of 701 ½ First St., Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 9:42 p.m. on the charge of simple battery.
Roger Sullivan, 55, of 4068 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 9:42 p.m. on charges of simple battery and aggravated assault.
A deputy patrolling St. Joseph responded to a residence on Irish Bend Road for a disturbance. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Sullivan was involved in a verbal altercation with another individual, and during the argument, brandished a knife. The deputy also learned that Ibert intervened, and was involved in a fistic encounter with Sullivan. Both Ibert and Sullivan were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Ibert was released on a $2,500 bond and Sullivan on a $7,500 bond.
Tashekia Celestine, 38, of 1115 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested Friday at 3:26 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle traveling on US 90 without a visible license plate. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Celestine. Celestine was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Celestine was released on a $5,000 bond.
Steve Scallan Jr., 30, of 1530 US 90 Lot #112, Patterson, was arrested Saturday at 1:48 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple burglary.
A deputy patrolling the Patterson area responded to a disturbance, where contact was made with Scallan. The deputy learned that Scallan held active warrants. Scallan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $8,000.
Frank Adams III, 25, of 210 Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested Sunday at 12:18 p.m. on a warrant for probation violation and a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for the charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred Wednesday, when a deputy learned that Adams failed to return the victim’s vehicle. A deputy made contact with Adams at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Adams was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
William Caskey Sr., 61, of 541 Grand Marais Road, Church Point, was arrested Sunday at 6:56 p.m. on charges of careless operation and driving while intoxicated.
A deputy travelling on US 90 near Siracusa observed a vehicle swerve between lanes at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Caskey. The deputy observed Caskey to stumble when stepping out of the vehicle and also smelled a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The deputy conducted a standardized field sobriety test. Caskey performed poorly. The deputy transported Caskey to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000. Caskey’s blood alcohol content was 0.120 g percent. Caskey was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Caskey was released on a $3,000 bond.
Tonya Schouest, 36, of 1366 La. 319, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 2:54 p.m. on a warrant for charges of cultivation of marijuana, obstruction of justice and use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
The warrant stems from the Sept. 15 investigation where narcotics detectives learned of and recovered marijuana plants from the residence occupied by Schouest. Narcotics detectives subsequently made contact with Schouest on Thursday at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Schouest was released on a $1,500 bond.
Ezra Lewis, 27, of 3467 Third St., Berwick, was arrested Thursday at 2:34 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and speeding.
Lewis was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Lewis was released on a $750 bond.
Laquandre Freeman, 21, of 500 Ninth St., Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 2:36 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana and improper lane usage.
Freeman was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $2,250.
Christine Rink, 34, of 268 Vivian Street, Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 6:45 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A correctional officer transported Rink to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from the Assumption Parish Jail for booking. Bail is set at $16,491.
Ervin Gant Jr., 49, of 146 Kemper Road Lot 1, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 8:29 a.m. on a warrant for failure to notify law enforcement of change of address. Gant was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from Fort Bend County, Texas. No bail is set.
Darian Bridget, 23, of 110 Martin Luther King St., Patterson, was arrested Monday at 2:20 p.m. on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation. Bridget was transported from a correctional facility in Iberville Parish to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Lenis Clement Jr., 56, of 6107 La. 87, Charenton, was arrested Monday at 5:07 p.m. on the charge of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A deputy investigating a two vehicle crash on La. 87 near Grey Eagle Road #1 in Charenton, found that one of the drivers, Clement, had a suspended license. Clement was released on a summons.

Marlen Henry, 18, of Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 6:24 p.m. on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace by fighting. Henry was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Harlen Henry, 18, of Robertson Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 6:25 p.m. on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace by fighting. Henry was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Takala Freeman, 18, of Blakesley Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 6:48 p.m. on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace by fighting. Freeman was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Ri’Kiaya Mitchell, 18, of Pecan Drive, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 7:20 p.m. on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace by fighting. Mitchell was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Tariq Perry, 17, of Willow Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 7:58 p.m. on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace by fighting. Perry was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Alexis Daniels, 17, of Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 9 p.m. on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace by fighting. Daniels was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Juvenile female, 16, of Franklin, was arrested on Thursday, at 10:09 p.m. on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace by fighting. The juvenile was booked, processed, and released to a guardian pending juvenile court.
Juvenile male, 16, of Franklin, was arrested Friday at 4:58 p.m. on a warrant charging him with simple battery with medical attention. The juvenile was booked, processed, and released to a guardian pending juvenile court.

Shelton Phillips, 22, of Georgetown Road, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 11:11 p.m. on a warrant for Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charge of theft. Phillips was also charged on a warrant for Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and unlawful use of a driver’s license. Phillips was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Kerdern Martin, 30, of Bigler Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 10:08 a.m. on a warrant for Third Ward City Court for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. Martin was booked, processed, and held on a $683 bond.
