Police: Man charged with cruelty to animals

A 49-year-old man was charged with cruelty to animals in Morgan City stemming from a May investigation, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.

—Paul Clinton Duval III, 49, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:25 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with cruelty to animals.

An officer located Duval in the area of La. 70 and arrested him on a warrant. The warrant stems from a May 17 investigation. He was jailed.

Blair reported that officers responded to 106 calls and reported the following arrests:

—Tommy D Morgan, 29, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday on charges of view outward or inward through windshield obscured and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A patrol officer observed a traffic violation in the area of Railroad Avenue and Oak Street. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Morgan.

During the traffic stop, he was found in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia, Blair said. He was jailed.

—Robert Earl Williams, 24, of Barrow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday on charges of red light violation, driving under suspension and a warrant for failure to appear in court.

A patrol officer observed a traffic violation in the area of La. 182 and Seventh Street A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Williams.

A computer check revealed his driver’s license was under suspension and city court had a warrant for his arrest, Blair said. He was jailed.

—Benjamin Troy Wever, 43, of Ninth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Railroad Avenue and Myrtle Street in reference to an intoxicated person in the area. Upon officers arriving in the area, they located Wever in an intoxicated condition, Blair said. He was jailed.

—April Lynn Aucoin , 39, of Cremo Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 7:36 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court.

An officer came into contact with Aucoin in the area of La. 70 and a warrant check revealed city court had a warrant for her arrest. She was jailed.

—Jerry Richard Forbes, 18, of Terrebonne Street in was arrested at 10:16 a.m. Thursday on warrants charging him with two counts of contempt of court and four counts of failure to appear in court. Forbes was located at the Berwick Police Department and City Court of Morgan City warrants. He was jailed.

—Myles Anthony Morgan, 31, of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:46 p.m. Thursday on charges of disturbing the peace and possession of cocaine less than 2 grams.

Officers were called to a home on Front Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon officers arriving, they came into contact with Morgan and identified him as the person causing the disturbance, Blair said. He was arrested. During the arrest, he was found in possession of suspected cocaine, Blair said. He was jailed.

—Tris Evans Madison, 26, of Jeanerette, was arrested at 5:04 p.m. Thursday on a charge of possession of marijuana less than 14 grams first offense.

An officer conducting a narcotics investigation, conduct a traffic stop on La. 70. The driver was identified as Madison, who was found in possession of suspected marijuana, Blair said. He was jailed.

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard Sr. reported the following arrests:

—Reva Thomas, 28, of Sixth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging her with shoplifting. Thomas posted pre-set bail of $301.

—Trey Simoneaux, 35, of Red Cypress Road in Patterson, was arrested at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace. Bail was set at $750. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for housing.

—Brandon Grant, 36, of Utah Street in Berwick, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. Thursday on charges of improper lane usage and driving under suspension. Bail was set at $252.

—Michael Walker, 32, of Palmer Creek Drive in Saucier, Mississippi, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with violation of a protective order. Walker was transported to St. Mary Parish jail for housing.

—Frank Keller, 31, of Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Thursday on a charge of disturbing the peace. Bail was set at $176.

Patterson Police Chief Garrett Grogan reported no arrests.
