Arrest Reports 8-28-18

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrests:
Jose Ventura, 34, of 2316 Grand Prairie Road, New Iberia, was arrested Thursday at 4:51 p.m. on two warrants for failure to appear for the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A corrections deputy made contact with Ventura when Ventura was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center by a New Iberia officer. The deputy learned of an active warrant for Ventura’s arrest and booked him on said warrants. Bail was set at $22,460.
Seantelle Treto, 32, of 220 Belanger St., Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 6:43 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended and operating a vehicle with improper tail lights.
A corrections deputy made contact with Treto at the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center when Treto was brought in on a bond surrender. Treto was arrested and booked on said warrants. Treto was released on a $1,200 bond.
Victor Stewart, 57, of 109 Jarvis St., Gibson, was arrested Wednesday at 5:47 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A transportation deputy transported Stewart from another facility to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center. Stewart was booked on said warrant. Stewart was released on a completed sentence.
Derick Jackson, 27, of 2436 La. 318, Jeanerette, was arrested Friday at 10:39 a.m. on a warrant for the charge of resisting arrest.
A deputy working at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse learned of an active warrant for Jackson. The deputy made contact with Jackson and informed him of the warrant. Jackson was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jackson was released on a $2,500 bond.
Stacey Grubb, 37, of 1113 Iberia St., Franklin, was arrested Friday at 10:15 p.m. on four warrants for failure to appear on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a protective order, switched/stolen license plate, driving under suspension and expired or no inspection sticker.
Deputies patrolling the area of Franklin were dispatched to assist the Franklin Police Department with a welfare check at a residence on Iberia Street. Deputies made contact with Grubb. During the check, deputies learned of four active warrants for Grubb’s arrest. Grubb was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Daanaa Richard, 26, of 209 Newman St., Baldwin, was arrested Saturday at 12:31 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension.
A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin was conducting a narcotics investigation at a residence on Bollard Street in Baldwin. During the investigation, the deputy made contact with Richard, and the deputy learned of an active warrant for Richard’s arrest. Richard was arrested and released on a summons.
Rondal Bowden, 31, of 1059 Blunt Road, Ringgold, La. was arrested Saturday at 1:27 a.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated and following too close.
Deputies patrolling Jeanerette were dispatched to an area on US 90 Eastbound in reference to a vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Bowden, the driver of one of the vehicles. Bowden stated that he observed a vehicle traveling in front of him slam on their brakes, and he wasn’t able to stop, and struck the vehicle. Deputies could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Bowden. Deputies administered field sobriety, and Bowden performed poorly. Bowden was transported to the Franklin Police Department for chemical testing. Bowden was tested on the Intoxilizer 9000 and Bowden’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.127%. Bowden was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bowden was released on a $2,750 bond.
Tuan Nguyen, 48, of 15 West Syls, Amelia, was arrested Saturday at 3:25 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of probation violation.
A deputy patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle touch the center line several times. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Nguyen. During the stop, the deputy learned of an active warrant for Nguyen. Nguyen was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond was set.
Ryan Leblanc, 25, 229 Sanders St., Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 10:37 p.m. on the charge of unauthorized use of a movable.
A deputy patrolling Centerville observed an excavator being driven with the boom up, collide with power lines at a location off Parish Road 131. The deputy made contact with the driver of the excavator, Leblanc. The deputy learned that Leblanc had taken the excavator from a sugar cane field loading site. Contact was made with the owner of the excavator, and the deputy learned that Leblanc had no permission to take the excavator. Leblanc was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Leblanc was released on a $1,000 bond.
Lindsey Couvillier, 33, of 416 Henry St., Patterson, was arrested Saturday at 9:42 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.
A deputy patrolling the area of Patterson observed a vehicle make a turn without using a proper turn signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the investigation, the deputy made contact with a passenger in the vehicle, Couvillier. Marijuana was found in the area where Couvillier was sitting. Couvillier was arrested and released on a summons.
Anna Landry, 30, 242 of South Broadway, Church Point, was arrested Sunday at 9:55 p.m. on charges of failure to dim headlights and driving under suspension.
Deputies patrolling the Morgan City area observed a vehicle fail to dim its lights. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Landry. Through the stop, deputies learned that Landry’s license was suspended. Landry was arrested and released on a summons.
Byrone Cole, 21, of 1836 Buccola Avenue, Marrero, La. was arrested Monday at 3:25 a.m. on charges of resisting an officer by flight, speeding and proper equipment required on vehicles.
A deputy patrolling Siracusa observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle continued to travel on US 90 Eastbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle came to a stop five miles later and the deputy made contact with the driver, Cole. The deputy noticed an aftermarket license plate was obstructing the view of the license plate expiration date. Cole was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $2,000.
Shundren Johnson, 22, of 326 Tiffany St., Patterson, was arrested Sunday at 12:25 a.m. on the charge of driving under suspension and five warrants for failure to appear on charges of theft, two charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
A narcotics detective with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a complaint of a reckless driver on US 90 near Morgan City. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Johnson. The detective learned that Johnson’s license was suspended and there were active warrants for Johnson’s arrest. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond was set.
Juvenile male, 10, Bayou Vista, was arrested Monday at 8 a.m. for the charge of ungovernable juvenile.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a residence for a juvenile who refused to go to school. The deputy made contact with the juvenile and transported him to the Morgan City office of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. The juvenile was released to his parents pending juvenile proceedings.
Franklin Police Chief Tina Thibodeaux reported the following arrests:
Vincent Coleman, 26, of Josephine Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 7:47 p.m. on the charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of Schedule II narcotics cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I narcotics ecstasy with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and monetary instrument abuse.
Coleman was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
Jason Ashley, 30, of Iberia Street, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:39 p.m. on the charge of obstruction of justice. Ashley was booked, processed, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Tamika Jackson, 43, of Martin Luther King Boulevard, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 1:13 p.m. on charges of theft and criminal trespassing. Jackson was booked, processed, and released on a $2,000 bond.
Dylan Petitfils, 27, of La. 87, Charenton, was arrested Sunday at 8:50 p.m. on the charge of theft. Petitfils was booked, processed, and released on a $1,500 bond.
Alice Charles, 28, of Gum Street, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 11:11 a.m. on a warrant for the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting.
Charles was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Anthony Williams, 65, of Prairie Road, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 1:41 p.m. on charges of possession of Schedule I narcotics marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle while under the influence.
Williams was booked, processed, and held on a $6,000 bond.
Tiger Nash, 19, of Hospital Avenue, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 9:59 p.m. on the charge of obstruction of court orders.
Nash was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
