Arrest Reports 7-23-18

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrests:
Patrick Patterson, 45, of 1314 Evangeline Thruway, Lafayette, was arrested Friday at 8:29 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of second degree battery and domestic abuse battery, and a warrant for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle.
Patterson was transported from the Lafayette Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $10,000.
Kenneth Perez Jr., 35, of 1915 River Road, Berwick, was arrested Friday at 10:10 a.m. on charges of driving under suspension and careless operation.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a crash at the intersection of US 90 and Southeast Boulevard. The deputy made contact with one of the drivers, Perez. The deputy found evidence that Perez made an illegal U-Turn, causing him to strike another vehicle. The deputy also learned that Perez was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Perez was released on a summons.
Jared Loupe, 40, of 1802 Rose St., Berwick, was arrested Friday at 12:56 p.m. on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of alprazolam, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the controlled dangerous substance law and failure to appear on charges of possession of hydrocodone, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and improper lane usage.
A deputy made contact with Loupe at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. Loupe was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Cade Neill, 23, of 102 Becky Drive, Patterson, was arrested Friday at 3:39 p.m. on a warrant for charges of issuing worthless checks and forgery.
The warrant stemmed from an investigation initiated on March 19, in which a detective found evidence that Neill forged and used checks from a closed account. A transportation deputy transported Neill to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Neill was released on a $30,000 bond.
Aaron Johnson, 31, of 1405 Hickory St., Patterson, was arrested Friday at 3:41 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of criminal trespassing.
The warrant stemmed from an investigation initiated on May 25, 2017, in which deputies found evidence that Johnson trespassed on the victim’s property. Johnson was transported from the Lafayette Parish Jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Johnson was released on a $1,000 bond.
J. C. Ford Jr., 31, of 107 Friendship Alley, Amelia, was arrested Saturday at 9:18 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of failure to provide notification as a sex offender, a warrant for failure to pay annual registration fee, a charge of possession of a firearm – felon and a charge of illegal use of weapons.
A deputy patrolling Amelia responded to the area of Friendship Alley for shots fired. The deputy made contact with Ford and found evidence that he was shooting a weapon in the area of Friendship Alley. The deputy also learned that Ford held active sex offender warrants. Ford was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Walter Baker Jr., 56, of 616 ½ Twelfth Street, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 11:29 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle traveling without an operating license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with a passenger, Baker. The deputy learned that Baker held active warrants for his arrest. Baker was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $21,326.
Bernard Harris, 51, of 514 AB Martin Road, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 2:05 a.m. on two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle traveling without an operating license plate light. The deputy made contact with the driver, Harris. The deputy learned that Harris held active warrants for his arrest. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $11,816.03.
Manuel Fabre, 34, of 116 Odile Lane, Amelia, was arrested Sunday at 8:09 p.m. on the charge of speeding.
A deputy conducting traffic enforcement on US 90 near Amelia observed a vehicle traveling at 96 miles an hour in a 70 mile per hour speed zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Fabre. Fabre was released on a summons.
