Arrest Reports 6-5-18

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum reported the following arrests:
Brionne Bogan, 22, of 320 Charlotte Drive, Patterson, was arrested Friday at 4:19 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop at stop sign.
A deputy responded to a call for service for a stranded motorist. The deputy made contact with Bogan and learned of an active warrant. Bogan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
Dustin Vaughn, 41, of 329 Clark Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Saturday at 12:33 a.m. on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
A deputy responded to 329 Clark Road in Bayou Vista for a domestic abuse incident. Through investigation, the deputy found evidence that Vaughn struck the victim several times. Vaughn was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Vaughn was released on a $2,500 bond.
David Chaisson, 39, of 417 Southwest Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Saturday at 10:05 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.
A deputy responded to an unrelated call for service and made contact with Chaisson. The deputy learned that Chaisson held an active warrant for his arrest. Chaisson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Susette Anslum, 43, of 1416 Second St., Morgan City, was arrested Saturday at 4:06 p.m. on Morgan City warrants for failure to appear on charges of contempt of court and disturbing the peace—language.
A deputy responded to a residence on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia for an unrelated call for service and made contact with Anslum. The deputy learned that Anslum held active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department. Anslum was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Travis Skeen, 29, of 606 Aristile Road, Morgan City, was arrested Saturday at 7:39 p.m. on an Assumption Parish warrant for failure to appear on charges of theft and unauthorized use of an access card.
A deputy received information that Skeen was traveling on La. 182 in Amelia, and that he held an active warrant for his arrest. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with Skeen. Skeen was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Juvenile male, 14, from Centerville, was arrested Sunday at 1:13 a.m. on charges of ungovernable juvenile, curfew violation and no driver’s license.
A deputy responded to a residence in the Centerville area in reference to a complaint of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The deputy learned that the juvenile male took a vehicle without permission. Through the investigation, the deputy made contact with the juvenile male. The juvenile male was released to his guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Cody Allemand, 30, of 211 Lydia St., Gray, was arrested Sunday at 1:39 p.m. on the charge of attempted theft.
Jody Crawford, 40, of 300 St. Francis St., Houma, was arrested Sunday at 1:39 p.m. on the charge of attempted theft.
Deputies responded to a business in Bayou Vista in reference to a shoplifting incident. Deputies made contact with a store employee and found evidence that Allemand and Crawford were attempting to remove $815 worth of merchandise from the store. Both were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Allemand was released on a $1,000 bond. No bail is set for Crawford.
Corneilius Burrell, 42, of 10501 Richmond Highway, Warsaw, Va. was arrested Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on charges of hit and run and driving under suspension.
A deputy responded to a local business in Bayou Vista in reference to a hit and run incident. The deputy made contact with the victim and learned that someone struck their vehicle and left the scene. Through the course of the investigation, deputies conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle, and made contact with Burrell. Deputies found evidence that the vehicle being operated by Burrell was involved in an accident and also that Burrell was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Burrell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. Bail is set at $2,000.
Somoa Scott, 21, of 702 Hilda St., Morgan City, was arrested Sunday at 6 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of obstruction of justice and a warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and illegal use of weapons.
While being booked on a different charge a corrections officer working in booking made contact with Scott at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The deputy learned that Scott held two active warrants for his arrest. No bail is set.
Bernetta Pennison a.k.a. Bonita Federer, 49, of 1721 River Road Lot 25, Berwick, was arrested Sunday at 8:38 p.m. on charges of assisting escape, misrepresentation during booking and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.
Brooke Mcmanus, 26, of 509 Marin St., Patterson, was arrested Sunday at 8:54 p.m. on the charge of assisting escape.
William Haff, 37, of 644 Russo St., 1A, Berwick, was arrested Monday at 1:29 a.m. on the charge of assisting escape.
Brandon Collier, 22, of 310 South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested Monday at 2:07 a.m. on the charge of assisting with escape.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies investigating an escape from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center found evidence that Pennison, Mcmanus, Haff and Collier assisted inmates in escaping from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Contact was made with Pennison, Mcmanus, Haff and Collier and they were ultimately transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. During the booking process, a booking deputy found evidence that Pennison attempted to use a different name and date of birth, and also held an active warrant for her arrest. No bail is set.
William Deans, 40, of 2726 Allain Road, Jeanerette, was arrested Monday at 3:33 a.m. on the charge of simple escape.
On Sunday, deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating an escape from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. With assistance from local agencies, Deans, one of the escapees, was located in Morgan City. Deans was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Taj Broussard, 21, of 108 Texas St., Lafayette, was arrested Friday at 4:57 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, transactions involving drug proceeds, obstruction of justice and violation of controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone.
While patrolling the area of Friendship Alley, detectives of the St. Mary parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section observed Broussard throw a bag on the ground while walking away from a vehicle. Detectives recovered the plastic bag and located other small, individually wrapped baggies of marijuana. While speaking with Broussard, detectives located US currency on his person consistent with distribution of narcotics. Broussard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.
Herbert Newton, 93, of 304 Main St., Baldwin, was arrested Monday at 8:47 a.m. on charges of nuisance animals and vicious animals.
A deputy responded to a residence in Baldwin for an animal complaint. The deputy found evidence that two of Newton’s dogs ate several chickens that belonged to the victim. Newton was released on a summons.
Rickey Buteau Jr., 33, of 6 Moresi Alley, Jeanerette, was arrested Monday at 9:43 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of remaining where forbidden and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of angling without a license.
Buteau was transported from the Iberia Parish Jail and booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
Trumaine Derouen, 35, of 1305 South Port Blvd., New Iberia, was arrested Monday at 9:43 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of methamphetamine and a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle without insurance, failure to use turn signal, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and improper use of registration/license plate.
Derouen was transported from the St. Landry Parish Jail and booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $5,750.
Elias Todd, 24, of 609 Sebby’s Lane, Bayou Vista, was arrested Monday at 5:53 p.m. on a warrant for simple escape.
On Sunday, deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating an escape from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Deputies learned that Todd had been dropped off at a residence in Berwick. Deputies secured a search warrant for the residence and located Todd. Todd was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Randy Pinkerton, 21, of 152 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested Monday at 8:40 p.m. on the charge of assisting escape.
Trinity Todd, 23, of 152 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested Monday at 9:15 p.m. on the charge of assisting escape.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies investigating an escape from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center found evidence that Pinkerton and Todd assisted Elias Todd with escaping. Deputies learned that Pinkerton and Todd provided transportation and a place to stay for Elias Todd. Pinkerton and Todd were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration. No bail is set.
Third Ward Marshal Carla B. Weidenboerner reported the following arrest:
Donald McDaniel, 18, of 1301 Percy St., Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 7:50 p.m. by a Franklin Third Ward Deputy Marshal for a Franklin City Court warrant for a failure to appear for trial on the original charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. McDaniel is being held without bond.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Tyrone Weber, 34, of Kerry Lane, Charenton, was arrested Monday at 1:11 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting.
Weber was booked, processed, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Michael Thomas Sr., 33, of Ibert Street, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 6:04 p.m. on a warrant for the charge of domestic abuse battery—first offense.
Thomas was booked, processed, and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
