Morgan City will host G.G. King fishing championship

Cajun Coast Tourism, in partnership with Bass Tactix Outdoors, will host the G.G. King Bass Tactix National Championship at Doiron’s Landing in Morgan City.

More than 100 anglers, ranging from youth to adult and ailing from five states, are scheduled to take part in the National Championship.

The tournament will be June 19-21, and the official practice fishing will be June 16-18. There will be a pretournament dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Bayou Vista Community Center.

There’s a $10,000 prize money for the first-place youth winner, a $2,000 prize money for the first-place coach winner, with up to $100,000 in scholarship money.

Weigh-in will be at 3pm at Doiron’s Landing in Morgan City, LA.
