Emma B. Averett, a native of Monroe and resident of Baton Rouge, died Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Houston.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until services at noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive in Baton Rouge. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by daughters, Monique Rayford of Houston and Sonja Johnson of Clarksville, Tennessee; sisters, Cornelia Brossette of Baton Rouge and Joyce Small of Patterson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
