WANDA LEE CATCHINGS ALOISIO

January 31, 1928 -July 27, 2017

Wanda Lee Catchings Aloisio, 89, a native of Aransas Pass, Texas, and a longtime resident of Patterson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

Wanda was a very talented woman. Whether it was baking multi-tiered wedding cakes, arranging beautiful floral pieces, or painting scenic and still-life portraits, she did it with the gifted skill of a seasoned professional. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, assisting with making the annual St. Joseph’s Altars, as well as owning her own beauty salon, where she styled hair for many years. But above all, Wanda was a devout Catholic and a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who simply treasured time spent with her family.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her four sons, Stephen Ross Aloisio, Gaetano Anthony Aloisio Jr. “Guy Jr.” and his wife Kathy, Michael Rosario Aloisio and his wife Paulla, and Leonard Joseph Aloisio and his fiancée Sheila Miller; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Gaetano Anthony “Guy” Aloisio Sr.; her father, Benjamin Franklin Catchings; her mother, Mamie Ruth Ives Catchings; and two grandsons, Jacob Rosario Aloisio and Benjamin Michael Aloisio.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Celebrant for the Mass will be Father Michael Russo with Father Angelo Cremaldi concelebrating, both of whom are longtime family friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Champagne, Blake Champagne, Jason Zerange, Mike Accardo, David Forbes, and Phillip Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons, Steve, Guy Jr., Mike and Len Aloisio, grandson, Tré Aloisio, and brothers-in-law, Rosario and Jimmy Aloisio.

The family would like to thank the staffs of the Franklin Health Care Center and Heart of Hospice for all the love and care that was given to Mrs. Wanda.
