SHIRLEY P. HEBERT ZANDER

September 8, 1934 - February 18, 2023

Shirley P. Hebert Zander, a native of Berwick, LA and a resident of Morgan City, LA, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1934 to the late Andrew L. Pisani and Lucretia Autin Pisani.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great grandmother. Her husband, children and her grandchildren were always the greatest love of her life. Shirley loved making memories with them by cooking and simply being in their presence. A incredible close family, Shirley was the glue that held her loved ones together and she knew it. Shirley always said she was so blessed to have some of her children living so close to her.

One of her greatest enjoyments was traveling. She adored camping with her husband and sometimes family. Connie, Walter, Stephen, Mark, Tommy and Anita Fromenthal, Janice, Kim and Laura all made her traveling days bright and funny. The day trips she made with her very close friends, Margie Scully and Irma Lombas, were often highlights of her traveling days. A major part of her life revolved around her church and her beloved pastors. She also headed the church group of the 'Sunshine Girls'; she adored doing this fellowshipping with all the ladies at her church. Together, they would often meet and laugh over lunch.

Shirley retired with Tidewater Marine after 20 dedicated years. She greatly enjoyed her work there and the beautiful people whom she spent her working days. After retirement, she returned to Tidewater Marine part time for seven more wonderful years.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Constance Shepherd (Walter), Janice Adams (Ricky), Kim Hayes and her companion, Dr. Milton Kidd, Stephen "Buster" Hebert (Mark); a daughter of her heart, Laura Sons Kennedy and her companion, David Hyams; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step son, Charles Zander Jr. (Mary) and his family who showed Shirley so much love after their dad passed away; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were like her own.

Alongside her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Zander; her first husband, Valarie Hebert Jr.; her son-in-law. Robert "Bob" Hayes; her brothers, Noel, Norris, Wilton "Billy" and Horace Pisani; her sisters, Eldora Konopasek and Bonnie Roberts; and two grandsons, Joey Paul and Aaron James Hebert.

Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Ministries on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9am until time of services which will begin at 1pm with Pastor Tommy Fromenthal officiating the celebration of Shirley's life. Following services, Shirley will be laid to rest next to her first husband, Valarie Hebert Jr.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Ministries in Shirley's name and in honor of the passion she had for her church family.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to St. Joseph Hospice; her nurses, Kelly and Julie; her CNA Juanita; Dr. Eric Melancon, Dr. Brian Parker, Dr. Kenneth Civello, and Dr. Darrell Solet; and close family, Andy Hebert, Kim Kennedy, and Gail Adams.
