ROSETTA GUARISCO BOUDREAUX

Rosetta Guarisco Boudreaux, 96, of Morgan City passed away Saturday, October 21, at Passages Hospice in New Orleans. Rosetta was born in Morgan City and lived most of her life as a resident of Morgan City.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Dewey J. “Boo” Boudreaux, Jr.; her parents, Liborio “Lee” and Mary Guarisco; two brothers, Peter and Lee Guarisco; and three sisters, Rosalie Blum, Beatrice Guzzetta, and Marie Hover.

Rosetta was proud of being the first in her family to graduate from college, receiving a Bachelor’s degree from LSU in 1946. She worked for many years at the former Lakewood Hospital in Morgan City in Medical Records and then later as Administrative Secretary until her retirement. She was also proud of her work as part of the team transitioning from the old hospital into the current structure that serves the community today as Oschner St. Mary Hospital. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She had been an avid bridge player and loved visiting with her extensive family members and friends.

Rosetta is survived by her four sons and their spouses, Michael and Deborah Boudreaux of Bush, La., Mark and Rebecca Boudreaux of Lafayette, La., Kim and Maxine Boudreaux of Houma, and Peter and Nancy Boudreaux of Morgan City. She also leaves behind her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Cyrus Provost, and her sister-in-law Grace Elaine Guarisco. Rosetta will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Jenny Pierson, Jonathan and Kellie Pierson, Matthew Boudreaux,
Michaela Boudreaux, Lesley and Herb Essien, Douglas Boudreaux, Tessa Boudreaux, Zachary Boudreaux, and Benjamin and Melissa Boudreaux. She also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifetime of friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial in honor of Rosetta on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Holy Cross Church in Morgan City, LA. beginning at 9:00a.m. until Mass at 11:00a.m.
