REVEREND JAMES 'VERNON' FAIRLEY, SR.
On April 26, 2023 choirs of angels herald in HIS faithful servant, Reverend James “Vernon” Fairley, Sr. He was reunited with the love of his life, Elizabeth “Beth” Dorris Fairley. He was a Loving Husband, Father, Pawpaw, and Pastor to so many.
Brother Fairley was a Master storyteller that witnessed his Faith in his words as well as his actions. He grew up in a Faith filled home but didn’t hear the Call to serve God in ministry until his late College days. Vernon met Beth while in Seminary and they were a witness of great love. His love for his children and granddaughters was evident by the pictures and stories he would share about them. Vernon shared his Faith and Joy with great humor and Love! Brother Fairley served dozens of Churches, visited shut-ins, the sick in hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons. His dedication to his congregations, the two Methodist Children’s Homes, and his card ministry to hundreds, demonstrated his commitment to Serve the Lord.
He was blessed to spend the last nine years of his life at Maison Jardin where he received wonderful care from his caregivers, who became family; Kelly, Sis, Adriane, Ms. Sara and Ms. Vera. The daily Bingo games became the highlight of his day!

Vernon is survived by his children, James Fairley, and Kimberly Fairley Conrad and her husband Glenn; his granddaughters, Alana Conrad and Madeline Conrad; and his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and “BJ” Johnson.
Vernon is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Dorris Fairley; his mother, Elizabeth “Bessie” Vernon Fairley; his father, Morton Cowan Fairley, and a brother, William “Bill” Morton Fairley.
A private graveside service will be held. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
