Obituary: Wayne Joseph Scully

Wayne Joseph Scully, 77, a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on October 10, 1948, to Raymond and Joyce Scully, Wayne lived a life defined by love for his family, devotion to his friends, and a generosity that touched everyone who knew him. A proud veteran, Wayne honorably served his country in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971.
Wayne found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or spending time in his boat on the bayou, he felt most at home surrounded by nature and the people he loved. Some of his happiest moments were spent gathering family and friends together for seafood boils, cooking crawfish, crabs, and shrimp while sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Known for his kind heart and selfless spirit, Wayne was always willing to lend a helping hand. He put others before himself without hesitation and never expected anything in return. His generosity, strength, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Bryan Scully and wife Candy, and Lisa Hinkle; his grandchildren, Jonathan Scully (Kerstin), Brooke Hinkle, Kaitlyn Hinkle, Abbie Scully, Zoie Scully, and Jaxon Scully; his siblings, Raymond Scully (Shirley), Ann Racca, and Judy Solar; along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship and kindness.
