MILDRED THERESA BLANCHARD ARCENEAUX

February 6, 1931 — February 18, 2023

Mildred Theresa Blanchard Arceneaux, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

She was born on February 6, 1931 to the late Meliza and Ursula Mabile Blanchard of Pierre Part. A resident of Stephensville, she was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Mildred loved nothing more than sitting on her patio surrounded by her family and the family enjoyed every moment being with her. She enjoyed many years fishing and camping with her husband “Blackie” with family and friends. They especially loved living on the water in Stephensville. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Daughter, Brenda Thompson, Daughter, Dianne McAllister (Carl), Daughter-in-law, Faye Arceneaux, Daughter, Carol Ryan (James), Son, Kent Arceneaux (Dawn), grandchildren who went to MawMaw’s house to become best friends and fishing buddies, Lance McAllister, Mark Thompson, Melanie Belle, Michele Amedee, Melissa Cooley, Jason Thompson, Erin Marietta, Katie Ryan, Andre and Alex Arceneaux, great-grandchildren, Alexis Palmature, Mallory McAllister, Brennen Cooley, Sean Torgimson Jr., Peyton Amedee, Grant Torgimson, Luke Amedee, Caroline Kerby, Eleanor Thompson, Thatcher Thompson and Lillian Marietta, great-great-granddaughters, Ava and Alora Palmature. A host of nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lionel “Blackie” Arceneaux; Son, Rickey “LiL Black” Arceneaux; Parents, Meliza and Ursula Mabile Blanchard; brothers and sisters.

Visitation was held on Friday February 24, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Brett Lapeyrouse, began at 11:00 a.m.

Entombment was in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
