MARY BESSE BLANCHARD

Mary Besse Blanchard, 83, a native of Pascagoula, MS and resident of Morgan City, LA, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022.

As a devoted wife, mother and Catholic, Mary was very supportive to God, family, and Community including her voluntary work as a Girl Scout, Boy Scout, and religious leader.

She was a former member of the Krewe of Galatea.

As an active member of her church, her faith in the Lord stayed strong and steadfast.

She loved to dance and sing. She enjoyed family gatherings where her mother and sisters would play the piano and sing through the night.

Her smile and laughter would light up any room.

Her Kindness, Compassion and loving heart will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Todd Blanchard and wife Rebecca Levingston Blanchard, Tonya Landry and husband Brian Landry, Tess VanHoy and husband Robert VanHoy, Trina Blanchard; sisters, Wanda Coleman, Helen Solar and husband Charlie Solar, Floriece Tisdale, Honorine Mier and husband

Michael Mier, Charmaine Oubre and husband Michael Oubre; grandchildren, Jessica Blanchard, Joshua Blanchard and wife Rebecca, Carly West and husband Robert, Robert, Mary Helen, Peter, Margaret VanHoy, Elizabeth Hill; great-grandchildren, Christian, Greyson, and Luke.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Blanchard; parents, Harold Besse and Floriece Hepler Besse; sister, Ruth Ortis; son-in-law, Mitch Gowan.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, LA. Rosary will be prayed at 11:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City, LA followed by burial in Amelia Cemetery in Amelia, LA.
