LIZZIE CLARK BYRNE

Lizzie Clark Byrne, age 86, of Berwick, LA gained her beautiful wings in Heaven on Saturday, March 25, 2023 peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends. Lizzie was born in Columbia, MS on May 11, 1936 to the late Jessie and Emily Adams Clark.

Lizzie enjoyed crossword puzzles, RFD TV Channel and Hallmark Channels. She also enjoyed picking fresh vegetables out of the garden and flowers for table arrangements.

She loved Sunday meals with family and friends. She always had a beautiful smile. Lizzie was a member of Soul Harbor Ministries. If anyone met Lizzie they had a lifetime friend and she was someone you would never forget. She had many friends that she loved and one friend in particular that she called “Maw” whom she enjoyed worshipping

God and having great meals together. She loved her son-in-law, he would read the Bible and pray with her. Whenever she wanted anything, he would always be there to make sure that she had whatever her heart desires.

Family and friends of Lizzie were invited to attend the Visitation on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Funeral Services immediately following. She was laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.

She is survived by her daughter, Nita Clark Simoneaux and her husband Michael; brothers, Joe Clark (Bonnie) and Dale Barber; grandchildren, Raymond Leonard, Sr., Cody Simoneaux, Chase Simoneaux (Megan) and Colton Simoneaux; great-grandchildren, Tristen Leonard (Brennan), Raymond Leonard, Jr. (Ashley), Kailey Beniot (Jace), Kaiden Arceneaux; great-great-grandchildren, Bray Lynn Paul, Aloura Thomassie, Ryleigh Haydel. She is also survived by her dog, Fred who was always by her side no matter where she was.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Byrne; son, Nathan Thaniel Hill; brothers, Tommy Jean Clark, Johnny Clark and Clifford Clark.

Serving as pallbearers were Taylor Verdin, John Chesteen, Jeremy Chesteen, Deric’ Anslum, Jayson Anslum, Raymond Leonard, Sr., Chase Simoneaux and Cody Simoneaux. Honorary Pallbearers were Colton Simoneaux, Raymond Leonard, Jr. and Kaiden Arceneaux.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hope Home Healthcare and Hospice, Dr. Donald Gervais, Dr. Natalie Dishman and Divinity Home Healthcare.
