LeRoy, a native of Morgan City and a lifelong resident of Franklin, was born on February 6, 1945, to the late Jessie Daigle and the late Ida Sauce Daigle. He was a welder by profession and eventually worked his way up to become a certified welding inspector and consultant. He worked all over the world for various well-known fabrication companies. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing, crawfishing, shrimping, and carpentry work. But his passion in life was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family, whom he deeply loved. LeRoy was called to his heavenly home at the age of 72 at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Franklin Foundation Hospital. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Gillian Rose Taylor Daigle; four children, Chris Ann Daigle, Kurt Matthew Daigle and his wife Janelle Louviere Daigle, Elwood Benoit “Woody” Daigle, and Gillian Mary Sinclair Finley and her husband Ira T. Finley Jr.; one brother, E J Daigle and his wife Elda Marie “Blue” Daigle; two sisters-in-law, Lynn Daigle and Gale Daigle; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by his son, Blake Andrew Daigle; and three brothers, Russell Daigle, Jessie Daigle, and Wayne Daigle.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to his caregiver, Melvina Morris, and the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
