JOYCE MAXINE ANDERSON RANKIN

Joyce Maxine Anderson Rankin, a native of Montpelier, Idaho, and a longtime resident of Morgan City, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the age of 91.
Joyce was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who excelled at sports such as bowling and golfing. She also loved creating ceramics and was quite skilled in creating beautiful pieces.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory are two children, Jackie Harrell Rankin and his wife, Linda Stansbury Rankin, and Mattie Pam Rankin and her companion, Storm Babcock; her daughter-in-law, Pamela Stansbury Rankin; eight grandchildren, Tammie Rankin, Jamie Lancon, Sherrie Evett, Kevin Rankin, Melinda Thomas, David Rankin, Jaclyn Breaux, and Donald Plessala. She was also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Guy Thomas Rankin, Sr.; her son, Guy “Tom” Thomas Rankin, Jr.; her parents, Carl and Lillian Anderson; her brother, Carl “Buddy” G. Anderson Jr.; and four sisters, Norma Mae Thornton, Ruth Edwards, Doris Anderson, and Beulah “Boots” Roberts.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance take place on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 10:30am until time of services at 12:30pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following services, Joyce will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in Joyce’s name.
In keeping with government mandate, Hargrave Funeral Home can allow for 150 guests in its facility for visitation and can accommodate 50 guests in its chapel. All guests are asked to wear face masks as well as adhere to social distancing protocols upon entry of the funeral home.
