JOAN P. HEBERT

January 17, 1932-April 13, 2019
Joan P. Hebert, 87, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born on January 17, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Edwin Golberg and Irene Bowman.
Joan was a very dedicated LPN for over 30 years at Lakewood Hospital. Her passion was taking care of all the babies in the nursery. When she wasn’t working, she loved to paint as well as baking sweets for her family. After her retirement, the hospital asked her to come back on a part time basis because there were more babies that needed her love and care. Everyone who knew Joan loved her and those who loved her will miss her dearly.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Charles E. Hebert Sr. of Morgan City; seven children, John C. Hebert Sr. and wife Peggy of Magnolia, Texas, Steven D. Hebert of Bayou Vista, Janelle H. Yurosky and husband Andrew of Morgan City, Jean Hebert and fiancé Tim Rochel of Patterson, Charles E. Hebert Jr. of Morgan City, Carol H. Carroll and husband Rick of Youngsville, and Jennifer H. Dreher and husband Gene of Berwick; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandie Elliott of California and Mary Coker of Washington.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Golberg; mother, Irene Bowman Pearson; stepfather, Fred Pearson; and one sister, Ann Biel.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses with Heart of Hospice for the loving care that they gave to Joan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Evelio “Toto” Buenaflor celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until Mass time and following Mass Joan will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
