JILL MARIE THERIOT BODIN

February 22, 1949 – February 6, 2020
Jill Marie Theriot Bodin, 70, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Franklin Health Care Center in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 6, 2020, just 16 days shy of her 71st birthday.
Jill was born in Morgan City on February 22, 1949, the third of four children born to Winfield and Myrtle Theriot. She was a longtime resident of Franklin who spent the majority of her married life raising her family and working in the home. She was an animal-lover at heart and loved her fur baby kitties, Elly, Freya, and Loki, and her fur baby doggie, Boomer. A music enthusiast, she always had music playing all over the house, especially the Beatles who were her favorite. She was also an avid gardener who took great pride in her flowerbeds. She also had a love for photography and was always snapping photos of everyone. Hence you would rarely see her in a photo since she was mostly the one behind the camera. But above all these things her true love in life was her husband and children. She never missed and event that her children were involved in and was very active in the Scouts and the FSHS Drill Team while Pierce was a member. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those she leaves to cherish her precious memory include her loving and ever devoted husband of 51 years, Paul A. Bodin; her daughter, Skye Hilary Bodin; her son, Pierce Joseph Bodin; three siblings, Goldie Hay and her husband David, Winnie Chauvin, and Winfield J. Theriot Jr. and his wife Darlene; her fur grandbaby kitties, Mara, Eliza, Arya, Sif, Oliver, Fitz, and Zoey; her godchildren, Robert Chauvin and Bridget Hay; nieces, Robin Gladden, Leslie Theriot, and Emily Gerhart; nephew, Blake Hay; as well as numerous great nieces, great nephews, and one great great niece.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Dennis Bodin; her parents, Winfield Joseph Theriot Sr. and Myrtle Westfall Theriot; and a half-sister, Mable Anne Rodriguez.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Following, she was laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk was the Celebrant for the Mass and conducted the services.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 o’clock. Visiting hours resumed Saturday morning at 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. dismissal from the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, https:—www.kidney.org-support, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, 1-800-622-9010.
