JEANNINE GANUCHEAU PETERSON

Jeannine Ganucheau Peterson
January 25, 1929 — August 14, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeannine G. Peterson “MaMe,” a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior.
Born on January 25, 1929, in Patterson, Louisiana, the only child of Albert and Irene Bernauer Ganucheau, Jeannine filled every room with her warmth and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. From a young age, Jeannine demonstrated an unwavering passion for her family, cherishing every moment and creating lifelong memories. She married her high school sweetheart, Clyde, and together they were blessed with wonderful children: Kirk, Kim, Kevin, and Karla. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, MaMe’s heart overflowed with pride as she watched her family grow. She was a constant source of encouragement, sharing her wisdom and guiding her grandchildren and great-grandchildren through life’s adventures. Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, where her infectious joy and generous spirit brought everyone together. Her passion extended beyond her family; she was deeply involved in the Appaloosa horse community and was known for her kindness and compassion toward others. Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, Kirk and his wife Janice Peterson of Patterson, Kim Peterson of Stuart, Florida, Kevin and his wife Inger Peterson of Stuart, Florida, Karla and her husband Dr. Robert Adams III of Patterson, and a bonus, her beloved Kevin Gant of Patterson; five grandchildren, Brian, Christina, Cayce, Mary and Leah; great-grandchildren, Jake, Claire, Elodie, Danielle, John, Hank and Zoe; her loving and faithful fur baby, Angel Rose; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
While we mourn the loss of Jeannine, we celebrate her life, a life that exemplified love, devotion, and an incredible spirit. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, during an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. Prior to the Mass, the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Richard Greene will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Pallbearers honoring her memory will be Kevin Peterson, Kirk Peterson, Cayce Peterson, Dr. Robert Adams III, Kevin Gant, and Christopher Henry. Immediately following interment will be a celebration of her life in the St. Joseph Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice, a cause close to her heart.
Rest in peace, dear MaMe. Your love will remain in our hearts forever. – C’est la vie.
