JARED YOUNG “J.Y.” SIMON, JR.

Jared Young “J.Y.” Simon, Jr., 88, a resident of Verdunville, La. and native of Centerville, La., passed away Monday, November 19, 2019 at 11:26 p.m. in Lafayette, La.
“J.Y.,” as he was known to many, was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving both a Purple Heart during the Korean Conflict and a honorable discharge.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, La., from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Reverend Terry L. Joseph Sr. will officiate the services. Burial with Military Honors will follow funeral services in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville.
Memories of “J.Y.,” will forever remain in the hearts of his son, Ronald (Catrina) Gunner of Lafayette, La.; Nelvin (George) Coleman of Patterson, La. and Dionne (Leroy) Washington of Lafayette, La.; one brother, Theodore (Terri) Simon of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Delores Wiley and Geraldine Johnson both of San Bernardino, CA; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
“J.Y.” was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a brother.
