JAMES CHARLES “JIMMY” AYCOCK

James Charles “Jimmy” Aycock, a native of Thibodaux, longtime resident of Lafayette, and a veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away at the age of 88 in the early morning hours of Friday, August 24, 2018, at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette.
Jimmy is survived by two brothers, Dr. Garland P. “Jeff” Aycock Jr. and his wife Gail of Houma, and Gerald Edward “Jerry” Aycock of Horseshoe Bay, TX; one sister, Sister André Aycock of Evansville, IN; his longtime friend, Kay Aycock of Lafayette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Garland P. Aycock Sr. and Julia Chenet Aycock.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, August 30, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be held privately at a later time in the Franklin Cemetery.
