JACK ELDER INGRAM

November 10, 1933 – March 4, 2018
Jack Elder “Pawpaw Jack” Ingram, 84, a native of Milton, Texas, and a former resident of Whitehouse, TX, Duluth, GA, Pampa, TX, and Franklin, La. died Sunday, March 4, in Athens, TX at Country Place Assisted Living Center.
Jack graduated from Deport High School in Deport, TX and Paris Junior College in Paris, TX. He served in the U. S. Army as a radar operator at Fort Bliss, TX from 1953-1955.
On February 15, 1954 he married the love of his life, Dolores Joy “Nanny D” Langston of Kermit, TX. In 1961, Jack took a job with Cabot Corporation in Pampa, TX and was transferred to Cabot Canal Plant in Bayou Sale, La. in 1965. He retired from Cabot in Duluth, GA and moved to Whitehouse, TX.
Jack is survived by two sons, Monty Ingram and wife Patsy of Athens, TX, and Rance Ingram and wife Lauren of Ashton, La.; five grandchildren, Kelsey Ingram of Fort Worth, TX, and Grant Ingram of Saratoga, WY; Erin Frederick and husband Orlando of New Iberia, La., April Martinez and husband Kent of Youngsville, La., and Casey Ingram of Ashton, La.; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evie Frederick, and Thomas and Bennet Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Langston Ingram; daughter, Keylee DeLeece Ingram; parents, Robert Wesley Ingram and Lillie Lena Albertson Ingram; brother, Mack Ingram; and sister, Mable Sugg.
Jack was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and enjoyed attending whatever the kids were into, especially sporting events, dance recitals, and speech contests. He greatly enjoyed coaching youth baseball and basketball in Franklin for many years. He coached the winning team in the first Biddy Basketball Tournament held in Franklin, and coached a Teche League All-Star baseball team that he always felt should have made it to the Little League World Series. He continued to watch the Little League World Series every year until his death.
Visitations will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary, 1007 W. Main, Franklin, La. 70538, on Thursday, March 8, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again on Friday, March 9, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary, with burial to follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
