HORACE JOSEPH JOHNSON SR.

Horace Joseph Johnson, Sr., age 69, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family in Lafayette, LA. He was born on March 4, 1954 to the late Jeffery Sr. and Maggie Willliams Johnson in Berwick, LA.
Family, friends and parishioners of Mt. Zion Baptist Church are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 507 4th St., Morgan City, LA from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Horace will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
Horace is survived by his loving wife, Mary Dugar Johnson; son, Horace Joseph Johnson, Jr. (Karen) of Baton Rouge, LA; daughters, Shoulander C. Matthews (Latimore) of Beaumont, TX and Darnisha Watson of Duson, LA; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Warner Johnson, Sr. (Eloise) of Berwick, LA, Charles Johnson (Cleo) of Shreveport, LA and Lawrence Johnson (Rose) of Patterson, LA; step-sister, Linda Strawder of Berwick, LA; sister-in-law, Sarah Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Debbie Johnson, Maggie Milton and Mary Nell Allen; and his brother, Jeffrey Johnson, Jr.
