HELEN BROOKS RUFFIN

Helen Brooks Ruffin, 72, a resident of Morgan City, La. and native of New Iberia, La., passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 10:12 a.m. at the Terrebonne General Hospital.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Mt. Era Baptist Church 406 Lawrence St. Morgan City, La. from 8 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. with Reverend Norman A. Stovall, Officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Memories of Helen will forever remain in the hearts of her son, Stanley Ruffin Sr. and his wife Rosalind of Morgan City, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Althea) Collins of New Iberia, La., Mrs. Shelby (Freddia Ruffin) Roberson Sr. of Morgan City, La. and Andrea Ruffin of Lafayette, La.; her companion, Dan Roberson of Morgan City, La.; two brothers, Larry Brooks Alexandria, La. and Lawrence Brooks of New Iberia, La.; six sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Annie Bell) Lyons, Mrs. Annais (Theresa) Johnson, Annette Spencer, Joyce January and Lucille White all of New Iberia, La. and Mrs. Charles (Genieve) Cheatham of Washington, DC; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, a daughter-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one sister and three brothers.
