HARRY “CHIEF” DAVIS SR.

Harry “Chief” Davis Sr., 77, a resident of Franklin, La. and a native of Cecilia, La., passed away on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 8:05 a.m. at his residence in Franklin, La.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, La. Burial with full military honors will follow funeral services in the Franklin Cemetery - Main Street in Franklin, La.
Harry was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge. After discharge from the United States Army, Harry worked offshore, as a sandblaster painter. He later found his passion in his healing hands, by working in the Franklin area as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in the hospital, private homes and the nursing home for over 20 years.
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love. Where there is darkness, let me bring your light. Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.”
Memories of Harry will forever remain in the hearts of his wife, Donald Mae Davis of Franklin, La.; his six sons, Derek Dabney, Alphonse Rollins, III, Harry Davis, Jr., Danny Davis all of Dallas, TX, Kenneth Bowers of Baldwin, La., Christopher Peters of Dallas, TX; five daughters, Mrs. Reginald (Darnita) Jackson and Mrs. Gregory (Nadean) Carr all of Franklin, La., Cassandra Linton, Natalie Davis, and Dontrelle Davis all of Atlanta, GA; four brothers, Jerry Landry of Carencro, La., Rickey Landry of Houston, TX, Robert Nathan Sr. and step-brother, James B. Jackson both of Franklin, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Matthew (Delores) Hartman of Franklin, La. and Linda Hernandez of Baton Rouge, La.; twenty-two grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law; three god-children, devoted friends, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his two sons; his parents, a sister, a brother, and a nephew.
