GLORIA CECILE GAUTHIER BOUDREAUX

September 23, 1925 – March 01, 2018
Gloria Boudreaux, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, died on Thursday, March 01, 2018, at 10:47 a.m. surrounded by her beloved family in her home. She was 92 years old.
Gloria was married for 53 years to the love of her life, Lannace Boudreaux. They were blessed with two children, Audrey and Ken. She pursued a career for almost 40 years as a Nurse’s Assistant who was well sought after, due to her natural born ability to nurture those in need. She was also a talented seamstress who created a variety of garments that included anything from children’s clothing, christening gowns, wedding dresses, and veils, to altar cloths for the church and vestments for the priests. She hand-made all of her children’s clothing and continued to sew for all four generations that followed her.
Gloria was a spunky little firecracker who was always dressed to the nines, sporting that million dollar smile and vibrant personality that was sure to catch the eye of anyone she crossed paths with. She enjoyed the social scene and attended many dances and balls, where she stole the stage dancing to her favorite tunes. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and was also given the honor of being elected First Maid.
Many people considered her as part of their own family because of her compassionate nature. All she did was done in love. She loved without reservation, no matter the case or the color. She left behind a legacy of love and will be so incredibly missed.
Gloria leaves behind her only son, Ken Boudreaux and his wife Botella; five granddaughters, Monique Guillotte, Deidra Guillotte, Gabrielle Boudreaux, Bernadette Boudreaux Bender and her husband Luke, and Colleen Guillotte Phillips and her husband Brandon.
She was blessed with nine great grandchildren, Lainey Pellerin, Aprylle Choate Bobbitt and her husband Eric, Matthew Landry, Braeden Boutte, Madison and Luke Phillips, Zane Giroir, and Amalie and Beau Bender; and was fortunate enough to know the sweet joy of having four great great grandchildren, Aiden Bobbitt, Aleigh Pellerin, Caroline Grace Landry, and Camden Short. She also had a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lannace Boudreaux, her daughter, Audrey B. Landry; her parents, Sidney Gauthier Sr. and Lumea Charpentier Gauthier; her brother, Sidney Gauthier Jr.; and her sister, Elizabeth G. Thibodeaux.
The family would like to thank her devoted caregiver of six years, Lillian Butler, the staff of Heart of Hospice and Brandy Burleigh for taking care of her in her last days, and Dr. Roland Degeyter and his staff for always providing her with exceptional care.
A gathering of family and friends was held Monday, March 5, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. with Father Lloyd Benoit as Celebrant. Following the Mass, she was laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Phillips, Luke Bender, Alvin Guillotte, Eric Bobbitt, Heath Guillotte, and Keith Saucier. Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons, Matthew Landry, Braeden Boutte, Luke Phillips, Zane Giroir, and Beau Bender.
