GAYDELL 'GAY' ANN BEADLE-ALEMAND
December 23, 1940 — August 30, 2021
Gaydell “Gay” Ann Beadle-Alemand, 80, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and native of Morgan City, passed away in Lafayette surrounded by her loving family August 30th, 2021 from a heart condition. Gay was a two-time cancer survivor, beating the odds for years due to a fierce & determined will to live a fruitful life.
Born December 23rd, 1940 to Agnes Gillen-Beadle & Garret Beadle, Gay grew up with her siblings in Morgan City, LA. After meeting her sweetheart at the tender age of 12, she later married Roy A. Alemand Sr. in April of 1957, and they went on to have three children, Donna, Roy Jr., and Craig. Gay lived an adventurous life following her oilfield husband around the country in Pennsylvania & Virginia, and on overseas excursions to Nigeria, Iran, Scotland and Spain where she thrived while raising her children and learning the various cultures she experienced. Once home for good, Gay enjoyed cooking & gatherings of family & friends, the sites & sounds of camping across the USA, ceramics, had an excellent eye & hand for creating wonderful flower arrangements, and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of country living like watching & feeding a variety of wildlife like birds of all descriptions and squirrels.
Gay will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Roy Alemand Sr., daughter Donna Broussard & husband Kevin, son Roy Alemand Jr., son Craig Alemand & wife Tyler, and brother Conrad Beadle. She is survived by her pride & joy grandchildren Shaun, Chad, Shane, and Conner, and great-grandchildren Colby, Braden, Ethan, Adalyn, Avery, and step-great-grandchildren Jeslyn, Donnie, and Marilyn.
She is preceded in death by her parents Agnes & Garret Beadle, and siblings Ray Beadle & Velma Dawson.
A celebration of life and an inurnment ceremony will be held at the Morgan City Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 3rd, 2021.
