EARLINE GRIFFIN MANFRE

July 6, 1927 — February 5, 2023

Earline Griffin Manfre, age 95, a longtime resident of Berwick, LA passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1927 to the late Daniel Earl Griffin and Cozetta Harrington Marti in Wichita Falls, TX.

Earline was a member of the Morgan City Garden Club, Women’s Republican Club, Krewe of Galatea and Teche Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She also served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Stephen Catholic Church.

Family and friends of Earline are invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at St. Stephen Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. She will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mario Joseph Manfre; son-in-law, Carroll Thorguson and great-grandson, Gunnar Thorguson.

She is survived by four daughters, Genevieve Thorguson of Berwick, LA, Cozette Manfre of Lafayette, LA, Leslie Jaubert of Youngsville, LA, Mary Monte and her husband Michael of Lafayette, LA. She also leaves her legacy to eight grandchildren, Karen Thorguson Trahan, David (Kimberly) Thorguson, Brian (Amy) Thorguson, Wesley Vinson, Brad (Amanda) Vinson, Jennifer (Ryan) O’Neal, Matthew (Tracey) Monte and Jonathan Monte; 14 great-grandchildren, Zachery Trahan, Brett Trahan, Owen Thorguson, Jackson Thorguson, Henry Thorguson, Ian Thorguson, Sydnee Vinson, Connor O’Neal, Gavin O’Neal, Mari Vinson, Finn O’Neal, Josie Vinson, Sean O’Neal and Logan Monte.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, David, Brian, Wesley, Brad, Matthew and Jonathan.

The Manfre family would like to thank the BeeHive Homes of Youngsville Assisted Living for their compassion and care of our mother Earline.
