DR. MICHAEL JOSEPH GUARISCO
December 14, 1945 — June 25, 2022
Dr. Michael Joseph Guarisco was born on December 14, 1945, to Dominick and Rosalie McCann Guarisco in Morgan City, Louisiana. He passed peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family. Dr. Guarisco served with distinction in the Army in Vietnam as military police officer.
Upon his Honorable discharge he returned to Morgan City, Louisiana, and was employed by AT&T for a number of years. He had a strong desire for continued education and with the availability of the G.I. Bill was accepted by Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri, where he earned his Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic. He enjoyed a successful practice in Lafayette, Louisiana for 35 years.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kahlie Blakeman and husband Tim of Opelousas; son, Ragan Guarisco and wife Dewana of Port Allen; brother, Dr. Charles Guarisco and wife Sandra of Morgan City; four grandchildren, Jordan Blakeman, Joshua Blakeman, Bryce Guarisco and Emma Guarisco; and various nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Rosemary Emmett.
The family honored his wishes to be cremated and they had a private family memorial on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Morgan City Cemetery.
