She was a native of Franklin and a longtime resident of Centerville, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Franklin Foundation Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Doris was born on May 12, 1932 to the late William “Bill” Landry and the late Glory Thibodeaux Landry. She was a homemaker who lived her life for the love and care of her family. She and her husband were longtime parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville and faithfully attended Mass. Doris had many pastimes that brought her joy. She loved sewing and proudly handmade each of her children and grandchildren their own nightgowns. She even sewed bridesmaid dresses, and carnival gowns for the Mardi Gras ball that her children were in. Dancing was also a favorite of hers. She and Joe loved dancing to her favorite musician Fats Domino, and met him while on one of their many trips to New Orleans with their best friends Joe and Ann, a fond memory of theirs. She also had a big heart for animals, and enjoyed feeding the squirrels around the house. She and Joe even adopted one that visited them daily. Above all, Doris was most proud of the family she and Joe raised. Her family brought her the greatest joy and she cherished her time spent with them. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her dearly.
Those she leaves to cherish his memory includes her daughter, Tana R. Thibodaux and her husband Ronnie; daughter and caregiver, Kendra R. Duckworth and her fiancé Tony Pellerin; seven grandchildren, Neil Thibodaux and his wife Tobee, Jeannie T. Segura and her husband Parrish, Maxciene R. Smith and her husband Mark, Kylie R. Schrock and husband Martin, Billie Jo R. Verret and husband Chester, Kade Duckworth and his wife Haley, and Kelsie Duckworth; ten great grandchildren, Mia Smith, Marissa Smith and her fiancé Ryan, Marlie Smith and her fiancé Logan, Gracie Segura, Jaxx Thibodaux, Krista Duckworth, Lukah Verdun, Quentin Schrock, Allie Schrock, and Remi Duckworth; one great great granddaughter, Kinley LeBlanc; son-in-law, Wesley Duckworth; daughters-in-law, Kaye Robicheaux and Norma Bodin; her sister, Myrtle L. Boudreaux; her brother, Wilse “Bobby” Landry; her beloved cat, Nadine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Joseph J. “Joe” Robicheaux Jr.; her son, Billy “Frog” Robicheaux; her parents, William and Glory Landry; and her lifelong friends, Joe and Ann Vaughn.
