Mr. Donald Ray “Gusta” Brooks, age 56, a native of Patterson, La., and a resident of Abbeville, La. passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, La.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Good Hope Baptist Church, 908 Washington St., Patterson, La., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and funeral service also at Good Hope Baptist Church 1 p.m. Interment will be in Willing Workers Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his mother, Joe Ann Brooks of Abbeville, La.; his fathers, Donald Augustus of Patterson, La. and Edison Williams of Houston, TX.; nine sisters, Penny (Milton) Mitchell, of Erath, La., Sandra (Calvin) Mitchell, Stephanie (Samuel) Gant, Candance (June) Clark, Pam (Leon) Simmons all of Patterson, La. Sandra and Danielle Laguard both of Lafayette, La., Paula Carter, and Dominque Moore both of Houston, TX.; three brothers, Kevin (Lisa) Augustus of Philadelphia, PA.; Edwin Jerald, and Edison Williams both of Houston, TX.; special friends Shamire Judge, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Decuir, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
