DOLORES DOTY HAHN

Funeral services for Dolores Doty Hahn will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Father Lloyd Benoit will be the Celebrant for the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be her six sons, Clyde Lee Hahn, Jr., Neal Anthony Hahn, Timothy Herbert Hahn, Donald Edward Hahn Sr., Michael Gerard Hahn, and Steven Charles Hahn. Honorary pallbearers will be her son-in-law, Stephen Lancon, and her six grandsons, Joshua Hahn, Caleb Hahn, Levi Hahn, Donald Edward Hahn, Jr., Philip Hahn, and Todd Lancon. Musical selections will be provided by Clay Boudreaux and will include On Eagle’s Wings, Shepherd Me O God, Ave Maria, One Bread One Body, and Be Not Afraid, as well as several other favorite hymns. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at the Church of the Assumption beginning at 10 a.m., with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Holy Rosary being prayed at 11 a.m., followed by Mass at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her late husband in Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery in Daingerfield, TX on Thursday, September 7, at 1 p.m.
Dolores passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the age of 88. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Dolores was a woman of deep faith in the Lord and a devout Catholic. She was born in Patterson on June 21, 1929, the youngest of five children born to the late Clarence Henry Doty Sr. and the late Jessie Knight Doty, and has been a resident of Franklin for over 80 years. She was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in New Orleans and worked in her early years as a Registered Nurse. A lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, she served her church as a Eucharistic Minister bringing the Eucharist to the homebound. She was also a prayerful woman who was a charter member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Franklin, a member and leader of a Divine Mercy prayer group, member of Come Lord Jesus, the Church of the Assumption Ladies Altar Society and Good Samaritans Bereavement Committee, as well as the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and was a faithful supporter of the Franklin Emergency Aid Center. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include seven children, Donna H. Lancon and her husband Stephen of Franklin, Clyde Lee Hahn, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Crowley, Neal Anthony Hahn and his wife Lisa of Lafayette, Timothy Herbert Hahn and his wife Alice of Franklin, Donald Edward Hahn Sr. of Franklin, Michael Gerard Hahn and his wife Suzanne of Baton Rouge, and Steven Charles Hahn of Franklin; one brother, Clarence Henry Doty Jr. of Canton, TX; one sister, Carolyn Doty Anderson of Houma; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lee Hahn Sr.; one brother, Warren Charles Doty Sr.; and an infant sister, Iris Doty.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Roland Degeyter and his staff and also the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital for the loving and compassionate care given to Mrs. Dolores.
