DAVID JOSEPH STEVENS SR.

August 1, 1949-February 18, 2018
David Joseph Stevens Sr., 68, a resident of Berwick, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, while camping with his family.
David was born Aug. 1, 1949, in Morgan City, the son of Joseph Stevens and Beatrice Thibodeaux Stevens.
He was a man that loved and adored his wife of 45 years and his three children and many grandchildren. David was one of the hardest working men anyone could have ever known. He was a wonderful provider for his family. There wasn’t a person who met him that didn’t love him. There was never a joke that would go untold and everyone will remember him for his humor, love, and compassion. He was able to spend his last day surrounded by his family doing what he loved; camping, fishing, and barbecuing.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Vivian Marie Broussard Stevens of Berwick; three children, David J. Stevens Jr. of Berwick, Sheri Boutte and husband Samuel Jr. of Patterson, and Corey Stevens of Berwick; nine grandchildren, Austin Stevens, Alaysha Stevens and fiancé Brooke Deshotel, Samuel Boutte III, Brandon Boutte, Chaz Stevens, Katelyn Stevens, Braylon Stevens, Brennan Stevens and Mason Stevens; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Myers; godchildren, James Broussard Jr. and Colene Smith; one daughter-in-law, April Candella of Luling; one sister, Laura Lee Howell of Foley, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved friend and dog, Tessy.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beatrice Thibodeaux Stevens; and his brother-in-law/best friend, James Broussard Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Charley Driskill officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Following the services, David will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery with Military Honors being rendered by Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard and the St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jesse Hebert, Paul Brown, Jared Gilbert, Boutte family, Jacobs family, Thomas family, King family, the Broussard family and many other friends and family for all the love and support.
