Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Carolyn Doty Anderson, a Franklin native and resident of the Patterson area for over 60 years who passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Houma. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until Mass time, followed by interment in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Monsignor J. Carolyn was known by most as Ms. Doty and was affectionately called Aunt Kaki by her family. A devout Catholic, Carolyn was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the St. Mary Parish Health Unit for 25 years, where she was known as the “Shot Lady.” She had a passion for quilting, was a member of the Patterson Quilting Guild, and even taught sewing classes. Other passions in her life included cooking, baking for holidays, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. But what truly filled her heart with joy was spending time with, especially camping, and taking care of the love of her life, her loving husband Lee. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her two sons, Brent Guillory of Houma, and Robert Guillory and his wife Ava of Lafayette; her daughter, Mary Guillory of Houma; an additional daughter-in-law, Dorothy Anderson of Alexandria; one brother, C. H. Doty of Canton, Texas; six grandchildren, Phillip Anderson and wife Michelle, Robert Guillory II and wife Heidi, Lauren Poret and husband Nick, Grant Guillory-Dohmann and husband Spencer, Adrianna Brunet and husband Clark, and Kamryn Casso; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee B. Anderson Jr.; her parents, Clarence Henry Doty Sr. and Jessie Knight Doty; one brother, Warren Doty; one sister, Dolores Doty Hahn; an infant sister, Iris Doty; and a daughter-in-law, Mona Guillory.
