CAROL ANN VERRETTE LEGER

Carol Ann Verrette Leger, a native of Berwick and a longtime resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 72.
Those left to cherish Carol’s beautiful memory is her husband of 53 years, Mitchell Leger; three daughters, Melissa Leger Alleman and her husband, Marshall, Karen Leger, and Michelle Leger Stelly and her husband, Joseph; her grandchildren, Ashton Leger, Matthew Alleman, Nicholas Stelly, Samantha Oubre, Chase Stelly, Marissa Alleman and Mason Oubre; and two great-grandchildren, Alaina Alleman and Nathanial Stevens. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Arceneaux and Louella Verrette; one brother, Harry Verrette; and her fur baby, Jolie Blanc.
She joined in heaven her parents, Harry Verrette Sr.; her mother, Magnolia LeBlanc Verrette; two sisters, Ann Broussard and Irene Sherman; and one brother, Bobby Lombas.
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Carol was part of the Morgan City Women’s Bowling Association for many years. She also loved to play cards and games, especially Pokeno, with her friends, as well as bake cakes (wedding, birthday, pretty much any kind of cake). She was very dedicated to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia, and helped lead their Youth Organization. A terrific cook, Carol tended to the needs of her family and home diligently. Her husband, Mitchell, tended their garden and she canned what they grew together. More recently, she took up coloring as a favorite pastime. She will be greatly missed.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Dismissal will follow services.
