AUSTIN MICHAEL JENKINS

May 26, 1998 — February 10, 2020
Austin Michael Jenkins, a gentle giant and protector ... always, was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home on Monday, February 10, 2020, at the young age of twenty one.
Austin’s wonderful memory is forever etched into the hearts of his loving parents, Nick and Chantel Jenkins; his adoring brother, Denver Jenkins; his maternal grandparents, Michael and Charmaine Oubre; his paternal grandparents, Jac and Marjane Coleman; his nanny and uncle, Christina and Steve Crawford; his uncle, Rhett Jenkins; his aunt, Jennifer Ramey; and his first cousins, Cruiz, Stevie Raé and Rinna Crawford, and Allegra, Ian and Addison Grace Ramey.
He was greeted in heaven by his great-grandparents, Harold and Floriece Besse, Woodrow and Louise Oubre, Merle and Jenice Jenkins, and Robert and Marjorie Evans.
A true outdoorsman, Austin enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. When not outdoors, Austin could be found enjoying a good movie, listening to music, or passing time with his dog, Buddy. While Austin found great joy in spending time with his friends, he was also the kind of guy who loved quiet moments. He made sure to take time in deep thought and especially in prayer. Austin was such a remarkable young man, that he has always been told that others would honor and respect him because of the spectacular person he was and the example he lived. Proof of this truth has unfolded over the past week in so many ways. Austin was loved by everyone he knew and although he will be greatly and deeply missed, there is also deep hope and faith in seeing him again.
A time of visitation and remembrance for Austin will be held at the Lighthouse Community Church in Berwick on Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again, on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 10 a.m. until time of services. A Celebration of Austin’s life will take place on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community Church in Berwick with Pastor Mo Seneca officiating. Following the services, Austin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
