ARLENE JOHNSON FROST

Arlene Johnson Frost, 89, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 22, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Arlene was born May 24, 1934, in Washington DC, the daughter of Harold Johnson and Grayce Johnson.

Arlene was a true matriarch in every sense of the word. She started every day with her prayers and daily mass, Arlene kept her entire family in her prayers. Arlene would spend her day seeing how she could make others smile. Most people know her from her crazy sunglasses, earrings, and car-stuffed characters, which brought others so much joy. Arlene fed, taught, and cared for so many people, so her door was rarely locked. One of Arlene’s favorite places was her swing out on her front porch, so that she could tell everyone hi. Arlene loved nothing more than Jesus, her church, her family, and anyone reading this.

The last year of Arlene’s life was hard due to “Arthur” as she called it (arthritis,) but she never complained. Her daughter, Theresa did an amazing job fighting the “Fathers time” with the inevitable.

If you hear thunder in the next coming days, it’s most likely R.J. and her arguing, but happier than ever to be together again.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Romulas “R.J.” Frost III and wife Stephanie of McAllen, TX; three daughters, Susan Batson and husband Billy of Columbia, SC, Theresa Frost of Morgan City, Kathleen “Bubba” Frost Alleman and husband Gene of Kenner, LA; 8 grandchildren, Trey Batson, Blythe Bickham Colbert, Thomas Batson, Grayce Batson, Emily Hover, Fredrick Hover, Anna Hover, Jaques Frost.

Arelene joins in heaven her parents, Harold and Grayce Johnson; her husband, Romulas Frost II.

The family would like to give their heartfelt appreciation to Ochsner St. Mary, Dr. Dishman, as well as Dr. Cefalu. The family would also like to thank Hope Hospice for their great care over Arlene during her short transition to heaven.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Brett Lapeyrouse officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m., until the time of Mass. After Mass, Arlene will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum with her husband, R.J.
