ANTOINETTE GULOTTA SPINELLA

Antoinette Gulotta Spinella, “Miss Net,” passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on September 4, 2021, at the Patterson Health Care Facility surrounded by the love of her daughters. She was born on June 9, 1922, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Rosa Mary and Nick Gulotta.
Antoinette was a talented cook and enjoyed having her family on Sundays to share in her delicious spaghetti. No one has been able to duplicate her recipe and that special flavor. After lunch the afternoon was spent watching the football games on television. She was an avid football fan.
During her years in Morgan City, she donated her time to both Sacred Heart and Holy Cross churches. She was an original member of Holy Cross Church, and as a member of the Altar Society she ironed vestments for the priests and altar cloths for Sunday masses. She was a member of the Holy Cross Bereavement Committee, helped cook the St. Joseph meal every year, and of course, sang in the Holy Cross choir. She was also an officer in the PTA and served as a pink lady at the hospital in Morgan City.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Dr. Faith Ann Spinella, Mary Kay Spinella Knope and her husband Eddie, Paula Spinella Hebert and her husband Derhyl, and Dr. Peter Spinella; and her sister, Carolina Roddam.
Mourning her passing are her grandchildren, Eddie Knope Jr., Jason Knope and his wife Christy, Eric Knope and his wife Katie, Megan Gallagher, and Sam Jude Holloway.
She was happy to welcome her great-grandchildren Jackson Knope, Holden Knope, Luke Knope and Emma Knope.
Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. Spinella, Sr.; her daughter, Susan Spinella Holloway; her parents; her sister, Genevieve Bourgeois; and her brother, Benny Gulotta.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Knope Jr., Jason Knope, Eric Knope, Derhyl Hebert, Benny Spinella, Benny Bourgeois and Stephen Spinella.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Peter M. Spinella Jr., Eddie Knope Sr. and Melvin Spinella.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Church at 11 a.m. on September 18, 2021, to celebrate her life, with visitation from 9 a.m. until mass begins. Interment will be in the Morgan City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
