Funeral Service for Annie Mae Smith will be Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 1 p.m., at MK DIXON Funeral Home, 211, Main Street Baldwin, La.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the commencement of the funeral service at MK DIXON Funeral Home.
She will be interred in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashton, La.
Annie Mae Smith was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 7 p.m. at her residence. She was born November 15, 1939 to the late Arthur Charles Sr. and Leila Charles of Ashton, La. She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Raymond Smith on January 14, 1961. They shared a good life together for several years.
She later met a great friend Roy Charles Sr. who was the loving father of her only daughter, Darlene Jackson. Annie Mae and Roy spent over 37 years together and shared a lifetime of great memories until his death on December 21, 2003.
Annie Mae accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized by the late Rev. Wilmer Castle at Mt. Olice Baptist Church on Ivanhoe Plantation. She also attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton, La. for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Charles Sr. and Leila C Charles; five brothers, Leroy Charles, Arthur Charles III, Leonard Charles, Melvin Charles, Robert Charles and one sister Yvonne Charles.
She leaves behind her only daughter, Darlene Ann Jackson (Clarence Jackson Jr.) of Four Corners, La.; two granddaughters, Antoinette Letrice Charles of Four Corners, La., Kimberly Charles of Jeanerette La.; one grandson, Courtney Charles of Coteau, La.; seven grandkids, Aiden and Alivia Peters, Kali and Kason Kiel, Kourtlyn Barrow, and Kori and Kourtnee Charles; seven brothers, Arthur Charles Jr. of Four Corners, La., Thomas Charles, Elder Claude Charles Sr., Milton Charles Sr., and Wallace Charles Sr. all of Houston, TX, Henry Charles of Atlanta, GA and Clifton Charles of Baldwin, La.; three sisters Corstine C Roberston of Four Corners, La., Selina Charles of Franklin, La., and Lelia J Charles of Baldwin, La. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
