ANDREW BROWN JR.

August 31, 1941 – January 28, 2023

Andrew Brown Jr. passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 81 on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Andrew was born on August 31, 1941 in Morgan City and was the eldest of six children born to the union of Andrew Brown Sr. and Elma Brown.

Andrew was a loving and devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a great provider. He had a lifelong career in the Oil Field, retiring after 43 years from Kerr McGee. A man of great knowledge and wisdom, he had a passion for woodworking and carpentry, and loved sharing his knowledge with others. Locally known for his love of gumbo, testing many restaurants seven days a week. He was a man’s man, strong willed, and now is reunited with the love of his life.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his children, Kevin N. Brown, Karla Brown Miller and her husband Bill Miller, and Kirk M. Brown and his wife Rachel Brown; his four grandchildren, Tyler Miller and his wife Sarahbeth Miller, Ryan Miller and his wife Katelyn Miller, Briana Brown, and Colton Brown; two siblings, Ronald Brown and his wife Jackie Brown and Brenda Brown Aucoin and her husband Rickey Aucoin Sr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jacquelyn Ann Hotard “Jackie” Brown; his parents, Andrew Brown Sr. and Elma Percle Brown; and three siblings, Terry Brown (infant), Charles Brown Sr., and Patricia Brown Rhodes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson with Bro. James Kyle, Deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church conducting the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert’s from 10:00 AM until time of service. Following the services, he will be laid to rest in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tyler Miller, Ryan Miller, Colton Brown, his brothers-in-law, Keith Hotard and Rickey Aucoin Sr., and his nephews, Rickey Aucoin Jr., Kerry Richard, and Terry Brown.
