Alvin Cooks Sr., 70, a native and resident of Franklin, died Nov. 17, 2025, at Iberia Medical Center.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will follow in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by children, Chassity Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, Alvin Cooks Jr. of Franklin, Toni Cooks of Morgan City and Javonni Keal of Lafayette; sisters, Shirley Kirt, Lorenza Johnson and Juanita Dugas, all of Franklin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six siblings, and a grandchild.
Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
