ALBERT STEVENSON

Albert “Doc” Stevenson, 70, a resident of Amelia, La. and native of Gibson, La. passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 12:16 p.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Siracusaville Recreation Center 1110 Grace St., Morgan City, La., from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow funeral services in the Morgan City Cemetery. The Reverend Norman A. Stovall will officiate the services.
Albert was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army. After faithfully serving, he received an honorable discharge.
The East St. Mary Veteran Funeral Squad will perform at graveside.
Memories of “Doc or James Earl Jones,” as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Deborah Stevenson of Amelia; three sons, Shayne Stevenson and his wife Wendy of Youngsville, La., Shawn Stevenson of Gibson, La., Brian Stevenson of Amelia, La.; two daughters, Shannon Stevenson of Gibson, La., April Jerome of Youngsville, La.; a brother, Allen (Edith) Stevenson of Thibodaux, La.; three sisters, Gladys Williams of Gray, La., Ruby (Melvin) Poindexter of Gibson, La. Mary Margaret Stevenson of New Orleans, La.; his grandchildren, a god-child, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents, and his former wife.
